I'm enjoying some weird tropical fruit cocktail thingy. I saw it in the freezer dept at the local supermarket. Zap it to thaw, without heating, add a generous glug of vodka and enjoy.
Very nice, but would be better with tropical temps to match .

Had a nice walk in the woods, along with half of Holland, this afternoon. The beech trees have finally turned colour, and the sun was shining so it was very pleasant.

Thought Scotland played well today. They were never going to win, but three tries against the All-Blacks is excellent.

Feeling cold in Edinburgh the last few days. Clear skies means the temperature wasn't rising, but the cold, still air made it great for flying yesterday.

I thought Edinburgh was better than Glasgow today - though the sight of working gritters on the M8 did make me wonder what they knew that I didn't .

Well we've had two groups of kids around for Sint Maarten.

Both groups carried proper old fashioned paper lanterns with tea lights in them, sang beautifully, took turns to choose a sweet and all said thankyou.
The youth of today .
Delightful.

So glad it's been a good evening for you Gwyn.

It's little things like that that show the kids of today aren't all evil.

Sandwiches made for tomorrow, early start as I have to be in work to test the radios, it's a new safety thing..

... and they're trusting me!!
Cheers, HG

Don't laugh, but since I got the new car I'm listening to a Classic Gold type station in the car. No LW so no Radio 4 .
Can't stand Dutch talk radio, nor most of the music stations. So it is either off or classic gold. I'm not sure declares some of the trash on it classic or gold, but never mind.

One of these days I'll sign up for BBC podcasts and dust off the old iPod I have here somewhere and listen to those instead.

The Tunein Radio free app on the iPhone will give you thousands of stations worldwide including BBC and you could probably play it through the car speakers

Well the red buttons all work...

....these are the council radios, issued so that we can contact each other and the central control room.

The red buttons are supposed to be tested once a week, this is the first test since january..

.....and all went well(ish)

beer time, or maybe a glass of white wine..
Cheers, HG

That would be great Ken. If I had an iPhone. Or any other smart phone for that matter. Mine dates from the and stone age makes phone calls and sends texts. That's it. Oh it does have Bluetooth.
I have an original iPod I inherited from his nibs. I can just about operate that.
Smart phones are too expensive. The phones are expensive, the plans for calls are expensive. Just too much money. My current plan costs me €3,95 a month and I don't use all the calls on that - a smart phone is between 10 and 20 times that a month.

The joys of management HG I think you should move on from beer now, glad to see you trying a glass or two of wine.

Sigh.
Just filled an online medical declaration for an insurance company. They need to know dates and specifics about things which happened 13 years ago. I don't remember. I don't remember when the problem started, nor the date of my operation, or the name of the doctor who did it.
I don't have the problem any more and I can't see how it affects my chances of dropping dead tomorrow anyway.

If I contact my GP to get the details he will charge me for the privilege, so I put in approximate dates. Let them contact him and pay his fees .

We'll probably have to go through all this again next year when his nibs need to take out an annuity for his pension.
