Of course dogs can tell left from right, if they are trained to. Sheepdogs know, sled dogs know, even my dumb old mutt knows (and the dog too :lol.
I have heard the East Ham comment before .
My old boss once said a co-worker was as much use as a ham sandwich at a Jewish wedding. Not very PC but it was true. The co-worker never worked out why we nick-named him Ham. He was sacked shortly afterwards for being incompetent.
How's the job going Gareth?
Edit: Not that I meant to imply you are incompetent . That came out wrong. Just curious.

Dogs learn to tell right from left just as we do. Although people sometimes look in astonishment when they hear me talking to a Gude Dog pup and it amazingly turns in the right direction, they think our dogs are super intelligent but its no different from 'sit' or 'wait' -a learned response.

That was an interesting afternoon.
Had a (partial) ride through a MRI scanner. I can have a copy of the picture for £10.
They give you headphones and ask you to pick some music and lie perfectly still. It's just about audible - then they turn on the pneumatic drill.

Job is a joy. Sitting at home with the cat drawing up plans. Not that she's much help!
No annoying co-workers asking questions! No long commute, etc, etc.
Although I did take the bike to a meeting this morning. There was a 20mph headwind and a lot of the road is uphill. Which might explain why on the way there I was at times only getting up to 30mph! I did manage 70 on the way back.
I think I need a bigger bike!

I chose Dark Side of the Moon for mine. Just in long enough for the whole album and didn't hear a single note

Shame on you Gwyn, that's a classic album..Sounds like the best way to listen to Dark Side of the Moon .
...if I ever have to have an MRI scan I'll ask for something like Paranoid or Led Zep 4, and for the volume to be turned up...
Cheers, HG

I know it's a classic, but it is still Pink Floyd.
If I ever have to have a scan I think I'll ask if they have any white noise. just in case Pink Floyd is all they have on offer .

Wouldn't help - the noise in those things has to be heard to be believed. I took my collection of obscure Norse metal the second time and still couldn't hear anything but the scanner.

I optimistically chose a Mozart Sonata.
Nice and restful - I thought. The finale of the 1812 would have been inaudible!
I've seen sience reporters on TV chatting to camera whist they transit. Now I know they talk gibberish.
I hope there are no nasties as well

No - my tastes are a bit darker than that - more viking/folk/black metal - Finntroll, Turisas, Ensiferum, Dimmu Borgir, Lumsk, Kivimetsän Druidi, Tyr that sort of thing

Dogs are allowed on the right hand side of the bar.
And for that matter, can they tell left from right?
