Amazon huh!

I ordered a battery grip from them, supposed to be a UK firm, turned out to be based in USA and shipped(?!?) from Hong Kong.

It still hasn't arrived despite a 2 week delivery date, the order was back in April!

Got my money back, paid £2 more and got one from Ebay in 3 days!

Only thing I have now and don't want is a stinking cold.

Not man flu, I still got into work...

E mail from Amazon, they can`t contact the delivery company either so can`t promise a delivery tomorrow even though it`s 3 days late!!!What a pain. I feel well hacked off, almost feel like closing my account especially now I have found that HDNL is part of Yodel which is part of DHL. Drop it, Hide it, Lose it. Found the bottle, nice warm feeling beginning to develop now.
When given the option I pay extra not to have things delivered by Yodel. Worst company in the UK in my opinion. I can't remember the last time they delivered on the day they were supposed to without any problems. I can remember the last time they messed things up....today.

If you have the parcel reference number it's worth getting in touch on Twitter. Sounds mad, but it's the only part of Yodel that works well and they usually sort it out very quickly. I'm not a Twitter expert by any means, but it's @YodelOnline you want to contact. You have to join Twitter, then 'follow' Yodel. Post a message and someone usually gets back to you within a minute or two. Took about 20 minutes from start to finish to sort out today.

Can I ask, have you by any chance had the 'flu jab? Liz and I had that a couple of weeks ago and she developed a terrible cold, more like 'flu then a couple of days later I developed the same symptoms which to coin a phrase "went onto our chest" so it sounded like we were smoking 40 Capstan Full Strength a day. We are a lot better now but still not 100% and have heard a few people complaining they were OK until they had the jab. It could all have been a coincedence but it does make one wonder. Never had a problem with previous 'flu jabs

No flu jab here Stan, just a change of work location...

...from nasty wet windy outdoors on a motorcycle to warm dry office...

it's only a 3 month secondment, so this seems to be a by product of close human contact on a daily basis!

And yes, I should be in bed at this time, but exploding noses need attention at anytime of the day, now where's that cold relief stuff?...

I find alternating between Lemsip, Covonia and Glenmorangie works for me

Failing the above, a large glass of hot lemonade, a goodly amount of any whisky and a teaspoonful of sugar stirred in works magic. 1st and 3rd ingredients can be omitted if desired

Where is everybody?

Are you all down the pub, shopping or just chilling with a nice cup of coffee?

That's what I'm doing, the cheap(by UK prices)French bought Lavazza is going down well...

Nothing planned here - weather is nasty.

Anyone know if you can put winter tyres on alloy wheels? Or do I have to buy a set of steel rims too??
Hardgravity

I'd go for a cheap set of steel rims Gwyn, Then they'll just bolt straight on and off from winter to summer...

Just got back from the beer buying trip to Booths, Wainwright Bitter, Black Sheep and Thoroughbred Gold at £1.25 a bottle...

....got enough to see me through the next week or four.

Plane is poorly.

Off to practice my motorcycling. Mod 1 test on Tuesday.

I agree. Alloys don't really like winter weather. And garages will charge you more for changing tyres than wheels (and wheels are easy enough to do yourself).

Make sure you keep whichever wheels are in storage inflated - check them every couple of months.
