There is a heat wave in my house, the central heating is back on.

I've put my night Storage heater on - so I'll have a nice warm room tomorrow.

I'm leaving the Gas heating for a while yet [ if I can]

This time last week I was in france, temperatures in the 20s.

We've had the fire lit the last three nights as 15 degrees in a damp climate feels sooo much colder!

What happened to summer, did I blink?

Summer 2012 in NL: August 18th and 19th, and September 9th, with a few warmish days in between.

Ok now but a good idea when it gets seriously cold though.

We've had the same Internet provider since 1995.

We are shortly going to change since we will soon have glass-fibre (fibre-optic?) high speed internet available to us. It is cheaper to go for that, with 100Mb/s up and download speed, TV and phone all in one, than using the cable or another supplier.
The glass-fibre is to the house now, early October it will be in the house and then the new provider will come and connect us up.

I have a couple of web mail addresses and am slowly changing things over to them, but it is a nightmare, trying to remember all the places which use my current e-mail address. I'll get another new email address of course from the new provider, but want to make a start on moving things now. At least then if I have a few days without internet at home I can use my dongle to keep an eye on my mail and stuff.

I wonder how long before the spammers find my new addresses .

My wife phoned to say she has just been stopped on the M8 by the cops. Apparently she was only doing 60 whilst getting in lane to take an exit. Curiously only one cop in the car. In Scotland there are always two since they need a witness for everything they do.
