I've been asked to make a "chilli-shepard" again. I accidently added the wrong colemans sachet to the mince one day while making shepards pie, a chilli sachet went in instead! I carried on as usuall and didn't tell anyone It went down a storm! It's a surprisingly good combination
Gwyn, hope the little fella is ok soon.
One day you'll find, 10yrs have got behind you.

Thanks for the good wishes everyone. A massive dose of antibiotics seems to be doing the trick and Casper is feeling a lot better. Still easily tired but he is playing again, which must be a good sign.
My son, his Dad, wanted to get the first plane back from London when he heard, but having seen Casper on Skype agreed it was OK for him to return as planned on Monday.
Another week and we are in England for a week. Trying to decide what to do for a couple of days on our own between family commitments.
We were going to go to Wantage, where we used to live but there must be something going on there as all hotels and B&Bs in the area seem to be booked up. So our visit there will be limited to a pub based get together with some former colleagues. Shame.
We start in Chalfont St Giles, leave there on the Monday, have this booze up in Wantage on the Wednesday lunchtime, and have to be in Faversham that evening. Not sure if Cardiff isn't too far away given that schedule. The Cotswolds would be a logical area to go to but for the fact it is August and they are overrun with Americans then.
Ideas welcome!

Come to Edinburgh. No American's here!
Third show of the festival last night. Still another few more booked. That's the problem in Edinburgh - half of your nights' out in a year happen over a few weeks.
Enjoying a day off. So far been sitting on the sofa all day. But the weather is nice so going flying!

Gareth, you're pretty unusual in that you stay in the city (with shops only on one side of the street) when the EIF is on. I thought most of the denizens went on holiday to far flung places like Crammond when the festival was on, renting their homes for inordinate tax free sums.

Which reminds me of the young guy I met who was surprised to learn that my daughter and I were from Glasgow given that he could understand our speach and remarked 'I went to Glasgow once, its a bit like Princes Street'.
Which in turn made me think of this Mia Farra's farra, the marra & the barra
