It could be the manufacturer needing to get rid of an over production. By calling them refurbs. they can be offered at discount prices without affecting the RRP of the item.

remember that extreme IIIs are no longer and they're now called something else. It's possible.....

I've had cards from Staples, W.H.Smiths and a local PC store, not to mention MX2.COM.

All are still going strong.

The thing to watch is the 'class' of the card.

Class 2 cards have the slowest write speed and class 8 the highest, at the moment.

For burst shooting or video don't get anything below class 4.

I notice there's no rating on the image or in the spec!

I don't think so
"R" could also stand for Returned or Reject. What possible refurbishing could be done to an SD card? They have no moving parts and they either work or don't work!

I just buy the cheap 2GB cards from Aldi and have had no problems as yet. Since got hold of a couple of 4GB cards with the same brand from Tesco, again they seem fine.

They also claim they are "NEW"

I see you are not up to date oh HDSC cards. You can get class 10 from quite a few suppliers.

Dunno - they haven't said , I thought it was the Sensor on its way out [ it was bought in February ]

About to put battery and card back in it and will take a shot or two in our rather grey surroundings

We actually had some sun about 8.30 and it has now vanished leaving grey and dark grey clouds

Having suffered US TV and radio... ugh. NPR does have some good programmes though, especially 'Wait, wait, don't tell me'.

I don't disagree Kris, and would add here that my intent was not to knock the BBC (or our free to air ABC (the BBC equivalent)). We're avid ABC watchers, and a substantial amount of that is due to the quantity of BBC content we get to see there!

What are Beemers like in terms of surviving the weather? I ride my bike all year round (unless there is snow on the ground!) and it has to be parked outside. My current Suzuki looks like a dog after only two winters and I don't hold out much hope she is going to last all that long. The Honda I had seemed to fair better.

Suzuki's are notorious for their poor finish, I've had several at work and they rot away in a matter of a year or so.

I can't comment on new Beemas but my old one was/is fine, as long as any salt is rinsed off at the end of the day.

Most Honda's I've ridden seem to survive British weather well as well Kris.

As nice as they look filtering down the lines of traffic in the London rush hour would be a challenge!

That confirms my impression. Now what 1000cc plus Honda should I go for....
