Another pointless thread

Thanks George,
I didn't realise there was a minimum character count and also didn't know that it was K5D as my operating manual doesn't infer the 'D'

No, Techno, it's not you. Some are just very bad. This forum's search isn't great, but I have seen much worse.

I think you are correct, but two characters are not enough, and several people call their machines K5D.

I'm not sure either how many characters are needed, but certainly two are not enough. It's unfortunate because "K-5" is an obvious choice as a search, and it doesn't work. "Pentax K-5" will work.

I understand it's on the possible upgrade list for future consideration.

If the team runs out of things to do, it could teach the site how to count. On the members on-line page, it always over-counts by one.

Didn't know that, did you?

That just might be someone concealing their online status....I haven't ever bothered counting, but one day when there's only a small number that I can count to I will do so.

I don't spend my time counting! There are six rows and 5 columns on the page. So if the site says 30 are logged in, the first page should be full.

But you are probably right about someone logging in anonymously.

That's assuming that the post was entitled K-5 or Pentax K5 or that these terms were used within the post. As it happens the one I was searching for happened to have been reused within the last week so I found it manually, but tediously.

Same comments probably apply to a search for Q

His Nibs is 65 next March. He wants to celebrate with a family holiday. Due to school and work that means Mid February.
So either another cold holiday, or travelling a long way for a warm one. Not sure southern Spain or Portugal will be warm enough then. You just can't tell.
No matter what, with 8 adults and 2 kids, it will be expensive. We will be paying the bulk of it no doubt. A final fling before penury.

Found a nice villa in Florida for a good price, but can't get a quote for flights without dealing with someone in person, since we count as group travel. Not sure I want to go as far as Florida just for a week any way.

Luckily I have a bit of time to puzzle it out.

Probably just end up with a meal out .

The last shall be first, Bernard. In the end, you will be at the beginning.

Leave six adults and the kids behind, and have a proper holiday. East Africa, if you haven't been there before. Short time difference, and the flight isn't too horrendous.

George - given the choice I would be back in Tanzania like a shot. However it's his birthday and his choice.

By the time I reach that ripe old age we will be poverty stricken and I'll be lucky to have a day out to celebrate it. I did hint last year for my 55th but he didn't bite .

Thinking about the discrepancy of numbers logged in, at the moment I find a variance of two, not one. Very often it's a measure of "active users within the last five minutes" with forums, so that may have more to do with it than anonymous users.

A thought that hopefully lives up to the ethos of this particular thread!

You're a woman. I am sure you can arrange for him to think that Tanzania is his choice!

Good luck.
