Another pointless thread

Thinking about the discrepancy of numbers logged in, at the moment I find a variance of two, not one. Very often it's a measure of "active users within the last five minutes" with forums, so that may have more to do with it than anonymous users.

A thought that hopefully lives up to the ethos of this particular thread!
Perhaps an anonymous user logged in twice?

OK, so it's been a nice day weather wise and I've been sat in an A&E dept since 1 o'clock.

The better half decided to fall down 2 low steps.

At first it didn't seem to bad, but an ambulance was called because she couldn't move her left leg. Examining it didn't shoe much up, but we went to hospital anyway.

After an x-ray it was confirmed that she's broken her leg, I wasn't convinced because she wasn't in any pain. When I broke a small bone deep in my foot 5 years back it hurt like...

...still..

I've been home an hour, had something to eat and now it's ( a very lonely) bed time.

She should be home tomorrow, I hope.
Cheers, HG

Fell hard, gravity caused it. I always wondered about your name.

Sympathy to both of you. I had my leg in plaster recently, and it's amazingly disabling. Your hands are on the crutches, and you can't do anything.

So, as chief nurse, you're in for a busy few weeks.

Oh HG - not fun for either of you

My sympathies are with Mrs HG - I also remember having a broken foot in plaster - that was most annoying though it caused a sensation after a plaster change when I was asked if I needed transport to go home .

My response was -

"Oh no but thanks for the offer , I'm driving "

I'll leave you to work that one out

Thanks from both of us.

Yes George, I'll be head nurse, as well as cook and bottle washer and fitting a full time job in somewhere!

The text from her this morning looks like she may be in a little longer. They're not feeding her, just in case!

Hopefully the cast can go on and I can get her home. Mind, she can't chase the male nurses..
Cheers, HG

My son is having a stag weekend in mid may and I was invited to attend and at first I couldn't understand why a bunch of 25-30 year olds would want an old codger along? Now I know insomuch as I have had to organise it & pay up front ! The cost is of course shared between us all but I now have the task of trying to extract money from those attending !! Grrrr....
Luckily I was able to convince them that hiring an outdoor centre in the lakes for the weekend would be better than a weekend in Bath partaking in dangerous sporting events, VIP nightclub entrance and finally a lapdancing club. So whilst they are all doing 'stag party' type things (pub, barbecue, pub again & silly games etc..) I shall be slipping away with my cameras enjoying some sober photography moments! Result I reckon (at least once I get them to cough up the readies!)..

Sorry to hear about Mrs HG. I hope all goes well with her and she is back home soon.
Enjoy the peace at home while you can - you will soon be rushing around looking after Mrs HG.

Never broken a leg (or anything else for that matter) thank heavens - torn ligaments were bad enough, and just as disabling. I sprain my ankles at every opportunity now it seems, but that seems to stop things from breaking. Even when I did my arm in I dislocated my elbow rather than break the arm.

STAY OFF THE BEER... ARE YOU SERIOUS???

That's the only thing that'll keep me sane after all the running around.

You'll also find they'll consume twice the alcohol you can - as our American cousins say - do the math.

Keep smiling HG, you may only need to do the weekly shopping fo about six weeks
