Another pointless thread

The Amnesiac Society possibly or the Forum for the Completely Undecided.

As I wouldn`t dream of being a member of anything other than PU I couldn`t possibly comment - certainly the thought of discussing my various "illnesses" with others of a similar ilk is repulsive to say the least !
I come here for banter and chat and occasionally photographic information - what else is ther apart from food and booze and sunshine ?

Hi Tony

More booze, food and sunshine. Talking of the latter, have we just had summer?
Enjoy life

I have never found one for collectors of bookmarks.
There is a list where people can leave contact details, but no forum that I know of.

I hope not. We had a few nice days, but no where near as warm as you had. Yesterday was cooler and today is cold cloudy and even had a spot of rain. They are threatening us with snow next week
Enough to make me turn to booze.

I was talking to a fisherman to day, and when it comes to predicting weather they are as good if not better than farmers.

The weather here today has been overcast with a strong north east breeze, so a lot colder than the past few days.

I said to him I hope the past few days was not our summer, his reply to that was, through this past winter, he has had few days held in harbour due windy conditions, and unfortunately if we have a winter in this part of the country without a few good gales, it is usually followed by a poor summer.

Then he rubbed salt into the wound, by handing me is house keys, so my wife can feed his cats, because he and his wife are of to India, for three weeks.

Take care.

Me too!
With all that sport on TV all summer long I really am hoping the garden will provide a refuge.

Our local almanac predicts a good summer this year, after getting the cold spell in February correct, as well as last year's disaster of a summer. We've had a couple of miserable summers so I think we deserve a good one this year.

Parts of the UK will of course be hoping for lots of rain, given their drought status.

Well I'm a fisherman (shore not boat) and whilst we may be great at predicting the weather, we are generally hopeless at predicting where the fish are !!
My prediction for the coming week is changeable conditions, with variable winds, some sun, some cloud, maybe some rain and coolish with a bit of warmth.

Couldn't get to sleep last night so I was thinking about this, that and the other and came up with some thoughts that confused me :

1) If you write in a notebook with pen and ink then you increase it's mass by adding the ink. Does it therefore follow that if you download to a blank SD card it too increases the card's mass?

2) An SD card has a finite capacity for storage in it's memory (e.g. 4gb, 8gb etc.). Does the human brain also have a finite capacity for memory storage?

3) What time is it?

1. no you are just rearranging the ink.
2. no but you can't always use the file retrieval Programme.
3. depends when you ask.

Wait a minute.
1) You add ink (that has mass) to the notebook - not re-arrange it. So you add information to the sd card where there was none before. Or do you mean that you replace a blank (mass) with non blank (mass) and therefore the mass remains the same.

2) my brain has a file retrieval programme I agree but how do you know the brain has infinite memory capacity?

3) Agreed

1) Yes you add a small amount of mass by adding ink. No you don't add mass to and SD card. It is just rearranging what's already there.

2) Must have or you would remember everything you ever experienced. Maybe.
My brain hurts .

3) Too early for wine, too late for a coffee.
