Do we now live in a lunatic society ?.

I dead to think what would happen if there was a real emergency in this country.

Take care.
Yes. The lunatics are running the asylum, and have been for some time now

Total collaspe and anarchy, but weve already had samples of that

My wife had to fill up yesterday (£54 worth, price gone up as well).
Normally go today whilst shopping, but she'd nearly run out.

The lady in front of her had a bill for £2.37.

Hardly worth the fuel used to queue.

We always top up the tank on Thursday night (camera club night) as we are passing the petrol station on the way home. To avoid traffic congestion at the entrance Asda had coned off the main entrance and made a route through their old car park and it was all very orderly. By 2100hrs it was taking on average 10mins including filling time, no worse than a normal Saturday.
We did notice on the "outward" journey there was an ongoing tanker delivery so no need to panic

Since there has been no strike announced yet, let alone started, I don't get the panic. Even jerry cans are in short supply it seems. In fact I have just read there will be no strike over Easter.

A woman in York has been rushed to hospital with 40% burns due decanting fuel in her kitchen with the cooker on, according to the BBC. No doubt the union and drivers will get the blame for that too.

Petrol has gone up again here - now €1.87 (1.56 GBP) a litre, though I can still find it at €1.77 (1.475 GBP) if I try.

I'm only surprised there hasn't been more reports of fires and explosions

Followed a link to the Sun online newspaper yesterday (for amusement only I hasten to add) and the lead article was, as expected, about the panic buying with a plea from the AA for folk to carry on as normal as no need to panic, plenty of fuel etc.. This below a photo of a garage forecourt with a long queue and suffice to say at the head of the queue, eagerly filling his tank, was an AA man !! LOL.

Just a hint of any disruption to the beer, cider, wine & spirit delivery network here in Blackpool would cause a panic way beyond anything so far experienced at Garage forecourts!

Is there any hobby, sport, pastime, interest etc. in the world that doesn't have a multitude of online forums posting continuous messages in almost real time?

I find the "I don't like Forums or even Fora" forum is fairly quiet.

I did think (seriously) of starting an "I'm not on Facebook site" but realised it could spiral out of control!
