Which lenses for Floriade:
So far 18-135mm and 10-24mm don't want to make the bag too heavy for Mrs Snap. I was toying with the idea of a new compact, pentax so I can post any decent snaps on here or a panasonic lumix can post snaps elsewhere. Need to try them for size as I have big hands, recommendations welcome

I have two weeks left on my contract and no work to do. God I'm bored.

Just a thought Gwyn, but how much space does your husband take up? Can't be more than the Bigma!

Wahey - just collected a Certon 750GB external dataRock drive I won in a competiton from Calumet .

It's no lightweight though

Measures 112mm X 150mm X 50mm and weighs about 530grm !

The USB3 lead is a flat one . It's very neat seems to be tough enough to stand up to being carted about

Never won anything before in my life
Have you tried dropping it in the bath yet? If it does what it says it could be quite impressive!
Err - according to the info I can find the drive is a mere £199 . 00 - think I'm going to drop that in the bath or a bucket of water ?

According to this you can drive over it, use it to hammer nails and throw it out of the upstairs window. I think you should try at least one, just for fun!

Now that the "lets go round the craft stall"; "lets get out there somewhere" season is about to start.

My wife works in the NHS and received the following :-

-------
Dear Colleague

We have received an alert regarding the sale of the following bracelets that have been on sale at Eden Project in Cornwall and another 36 retailers across the UK; urging customers to return the red and black bracelets made from the Jequirity bean, the deadly seed of the plant abrus precatorious. It contains the toxin abrin, a controlled substance under the Terrorism Act that if swallowed can kin in doses of just 3 micrograms. Abrin is chemically similar to ricin, a chemical warfare agent. People who have bought the bracelets are being urged to bag them and then wash their hands and avoid touching their eyes. The Eden Project alone sold 2,800 bracelets over a year. I If you attend a patient known to have been in contact with one of these bracelets please treat as per poisonous substances and be aware of the imminent risk to the patient.

Were they sold under the Fair Trade Agreement

On a happier note the film advance on the Zenit used in Whitechapel appears to have been repaired

It does beg the question whether anyone checks what is coming into the country. It's not as if it's just a few via ebay.

Added to that it's probably youngsters who will wear them and possibly suck them.

I wonder why they chose a Zenith camera, its not as if the programme is set in the early 70's. I can't imagine it's just so they can save a few bob

Probably there wasn't enough interest from the big names caonon, nikon, to pay for "product placement"

and you don't have to pay much to get a decent Zenit (notice the lack of 'h', that's how it should be spelt)
Cheers, HG

K110+DA40, K200+DA35, K3 and a bag of lenses, bodies and other bits.

Mustn't forget the Zenits, or folders, or...

PPG entries.

As I said, you can never trust the Ruskies. It's probably part of their masterplan!

My mistake, should've known better. I have my Zenit-B on a shelf in front of me, together with the ubiquitous Industar-50-2 lens. Hasn't had a film through it in 20 years or more.

Funny that.

I've got my Zenit B, 3M, and a couple of 122s on the table next to me.

I've got to spool some film then use them...

...no seriously I do mean it..

.......who's that laughing at the back?
Cheers, HG

A used Zenit was my first SLR in the mid 80's, it jammed twice so went into a skip. Didn't buy another camera until about 1989, brand new SFXn and two sigma AF lenses 28-70mm and 70-210mm, all hardly used and sold at a give away on ebay last year
