Maybe Apple fanboys (and girls) are all way too sensitive.

Enjoy this .

I've just got back from the gym and had to peddle my bike in a low gear going DOWNHILL just to keep moving such is the strength of the wind this morning. At least it's still dry

Any ideas why Google thinks I live in Basingstoke - I barely know where it is.

Whatever I search for I have to "change the location" before I get anything near by. Is there a permament change I can make?

Perhaps they don't want you to go for a Burton

This ain't pointless - but the rant is needed.

Changed my Power supplier at the beginning of August - all went well . Payment every month by Direct Debit so I could budget . Payment was high to allow for extra use over the winter.

They didn't take any money from me in October OR November - so having checked bank statement today I phoned .

Seems they had had a computing systems glitch and it had cancelled my Direct Debit !!

Now got it all straight again . Miss Rebecca assures me she will be checking my account details on the date my next payment should be taken - AND SO WILL I !!!!

ARGH .
I'm not a happy bunny . had to make a payment by Phone today to get things straightened out - and yes I did manage to get some compensation for their error [ it helps but it wasn't a large amount ]

Ah! the old Direct Debit Help Yourself Con...... you might
as well send them a wad of signed blank cheques

I set mine up like that when I changed supplier about 2 years
ago..... they keep sending me letters saying that they are
increasing the amount they are going to take I'll have
to contact them this time, because they are increasing it even
though they have taken 2-3 months extra already

They should be refunding me.... which I think I'll ask them
to do
Half Man... Half Pentax ... Half Cucumber

Pentax K-1 + K-5 and some other stuff

Oh actually I'll give them their due - what I was due to pay each month was set up so I had credit with them for the winter [ remembering what I paid last year ] First of all they reduced it [ well in August and September I used very little gas or electricity ] and then seemed to stop taking money .

My account is now [ said Rebecca ] flagged to ensure that nothing is altered without actually talking with me .

We'll see

The good thing about being in credit is that you are not buying photographic equipment.

The bad thing about being in credit is that you are not buying photographic equipment.

We pay a set amount every month and then in May settle up with them and adjust the payment for the coming year. Usually the payments are pretty much spot on. Occasionally they owe us some money which they take off the first payment of the new year. Even after last winter we didn't owe them anything.
I read the meter and give them the reading online. Once every few years they come and check, or if the reading seems outrageous for any reason they send someone along.
Same with the water.

I also submit my readings online but I've still no real idea as to how much energy I use . Since Raymond's death - of course I used less and gas was only for the central heating.

Since doing up the kitchen, I got gas into that, so I now cook with gas using a proper oven [ before that I'd a combi microwave/convection oven ] - that went in at the end of 2009 and then I had to replace the boiler last year - and that should hopefully be more efficient . My worst bill [ monthly ] last year was £105 which was really not too bad considering the weather up here.

When I got approached in shopping malls and asked who my electricity/gas supplier was I usually replied, after a shifty look around, "I'm wired into my neighbours"

Our annual bill compares our gas and electricity consumption over the last four years. I'm pleased to say they have gone down most years, but I can't see any more savings to make now, short of knocking down the half of the house we don't use .

They usually ask if I have dual fuel and would I be interested in changing

When this happens to me I play along and their little faces light up and they get all excited. Then I ask them what day they deliver logs and they get a bit miffed - why - isn't wood a dual fuel

I was called a few years back from someone who told me I had won £1000 to spend towards a new kitchen.

I told them I'd just put my new kitchen in so could they just send me a cheque. There was a stunned silence as the person (who had obviously been told they were not to hang up on customers) tried to think what to do next!
