I keep looking for a FED2, It would be fun to change the badges and have a Lieca!
Just edited this for spelling, I think my keyboard is a little off centre today!

Not the same caché as a Leica though.
If you ever buy one, get the turbo. It's actually slightly cheaper on fuel than the non-turbo and a lot more entertaining! Dangermouse wrote:
Hmm, Leica M9 body only or used Subaru Forester and a K5 with kit lens (seriously, you could have either for the same money)...
I think I'll take the latter, bit more useful!
Me too. A Forester is something I've always wanted, and another K-5 would be handy.Hmm, Leica M9 body only or used Subaru Forester and a K5 with kit lens (seriously, you could have either for the same money)...

I wouldn't mind a FED-2 either, the main thing putting me off is the fact that the rangefinder mechanism seems prone to going out of adjustment and requires a lot of fiddling around to set it up.

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

I meant to say - a wheel nut was omitted from his front offside wheel assembly during a routine service and oil change at his garage due to the exhuberance of the lollipop man -!!

I'm on the fourth locking wheel nut for the Audi. First two shredded, so I eventually had the nuts drilled out, bought aftermarket locks and the garage lost the third one!

The Land Rover is back at the garage. It has spent more time there that it has with it's owner so far. And it has cost a fortune in repairs. SO much for the pre-purchase testing that was done. Waste of money that was.
The water pump went, which blew the head gasket so all that was repaired plus some other stuff that was also caused by the pump failing. Today it has gone back again because coolant is flowing as fast out of it as it is poured in. Hopefully they just need to tighten things up or I can see the bank of Mum and Dad having to make another loan.
Plus someone managed to crash into it in the car park by their house. In a Toyota IQ, but still manage to leave a huge dent in it. The IQ driver didn't leave a note or anything so my son went door to door until he found him.
He's agreed to a claim on his insurance though.
The Land Rover would have been a great idea if they had any spare cash, but they don't. I really hope they get it fixed now and it runs well for a while. At least until the winter when my oldest son isn't sailing and can work on it - he is a trained car mechanic after all.

Cooling systems on Landies eh?
Mine put the fan blades through the radiator!
One long drive with lots of stops later and £200 lighter I replaced the radiator, only to find the waterpump wasn't coming out.
10 days, a big hammer and several drill bits later it was sorted.
You have to laugh though!
