Another pointless thread

I could put some gear in the checked luggage - it is all insured to cover being checked too, but I'd really rather not. Would hate to arrive in La Palma and find some light-fingered no good has pinched the Bigma.

TT- we have sun, but it is really windy with it. Rain again tomorrow. Hopefully we haven't already had summer, though this weather certainly feels very autumnal.

Weather looks good in France - when are you going?

Not so long to wait then! I get back from my sailing jaunt on the 1st, and the 2nd, being Ascension Day is a holiday here. Which reminds me I must ask his nibs to get some food in for that day!
We go to La Palma on the 10th, and go to the fiesta (which is the object of the trip) on the 11th. Volcanoes willing that is .

Where in France are you heading TT, I missed a few posts last week so if you've already said please excuse my tardiness.

We set off to the south, via Zeebrugge and all points on the way in, let me see, 10 days.
Cheers, HG

They weighed your bag?
yep, really really.

Having said that, it was after the second 4-hour sleep night in a row (damned friends...) and I was tired, meaning that it looked a *lot* heavier than it was.

I think I'm going to try and find a Lowepro passport sling to dump the camera gear in.

I just hope they don't weigh the car on the way out and back...

...It'll be a lot heavier with the year's supply of wine when we return!

Seen as it's Tuesday and the diet is going well, I thought I'd try and an apple vodka and lemonade. So I did.

Just been playing with my new Sony e-reader. I was going to get a Kindle, but then his nibs was given an e-reader as a farewell gift, which is an e-Pub reader. So in order to share books and not buy everything twice I have bought a little Pocket Sony. Tiny little thing. Just downloaded my first book to it - by Arnaldur Indrišason. I only discovered him recently but I read his first (at least in English translation) book at a single sitting.

That will save some weight on the forthcoming hols .

TT - it may not be a holiday but I am sure it will be a far more rewarding experience. I hope you manage to get some time to relax.

[RANT]

This is REALLY not on . It's raining - yet again , the temp in my sitting room is just on 60 F - I'm going to have to put some heating on .

For the last 3 days my central heating has kicked into action at 6 am !! though it's gone off after 30 mins or so and occasionally kicked into action in the afternoon for a short time.

Next week we start ' Flaming June '

Just seen the weather forecast - MORE RAIN tomorrow and some high winds yet again [/RANT]

Could be worse - We've had snow at this time of year in the recent past

And ---- at least the rain is warmer than it was a few months ago. Makes the grass grow so that you have an excuse to walk up and down with a mower.

We've had a couple of really cold Junes so I am hoping this year won't be another one of them. It has been cool with the occasional little shower, And we've had the heating on in the mornings, but today has been lovely again - I am sitting outside now, typing this (sorry TT).

We actually need the rain - we have a bigger water shortage than in 1976 already.
Just don't send it over until I'm back from sailing .
