This is REALLY not on . It's raining - yet again , the temp in my sitting room is just on 60 F - I'm going to have to put some heating on .

For the last 3 days my central heating has kicked into action at 6 am !! though it's gone off after 30 mins or so and occasionally kicked into action in the afternoon for a short time.

Next week we start ' Flaming June '

Just seen the weather forecast - MORE RAIN tomorrow and some high winds yet again [/RANT]
May I remind you of a quote from one of your fellow countymen, a Mr W Connolly, "There are only two seasons in Scotland July and winter". So you should not expect good weather yet.

At least the ash has gone south. Probably for the weather!

A good day - I swapped an unwanted MZ50 for a Makinon 500mm f8 mirror lens.

The school I'm currently working in has twinned itself with one in Uganda which is after cameras (amongst other things), so staff and students are currently trawling wardrobes. I managed to fix a dead P30t dug up by one teacher to send out and swapped the MZ50 body for the lens as he'd also found an AF zoom and we reckoned two cameras with lenses would beat one camera and three lenses. Apparently they can get hold of film relatively easily out there, just hope LR44 and CR2 batteries aren't too hard to find...

LR44s can be got on a card of 10 in boyes for a little over £1 DM.

It might be an idea to get a card and send them with the P30t, at least they be able to use one camera for quiet a while then.

As for the CR2 batteries, they could be a problem, heck they're getting harder to find here!

What was that song Mr W Connolly sang? something about wellies TT?

I've got that 'been hanging around for a delivery all day and it's not arrived' feeling .

Off to the Isle of Arran with the family on Saturday (yipee). Looking forward to trying out some seascapes, and Dr Orloff's fine long exposure posts this week inspired me to get a 10 stopper and give it a whirl. But Teamwork Digital were supposed to deliver today and haven't. Hope it turns up tomorrow. I suppose if not it'll be galling, but lots else to photograph on Arran . I just don't think trying out the stopper the following week on the local duck pond will be quite as gripping...

I've had one of the cards of LR44s before, so will suggest sending one of them out with the camera. The group isn't coming over until late next month (after exam season is over) so there's plenty of time yet. I've also donated an old Centon PKA-fit 70-210mm zoom to the cause (I never use it, you can barely give them away on ebay, and it'll work with both the cameras collected so far).

Remember that site Les - used to live in Skeffling Close on the Lower Earley development when there were still more rabbits than homes...

That was, I think, a WHSmith Do It All store originally - price was consider a bit rich by our MD at the time IRRC, so we didn't go for it. I had a hand in the Reading and Bracknell stores - 1989 was a very busy year for us, especially as there were only 2 of us on the road.

My bedroom wallpaper came from a Focus closing down sale. I did have to be careful to buy plenty of the stuff as I wouldn't be able to go back a fortnight for more!

Half term this week. Time to get out and have a go with the mirror lens, also want to get over to Aberaeron/Aberystwyth/Borth for a nice long drive.
