I think what got to me on that one were the constant references to "The People's Banquet". I just thought it an insufferably naff name which reminded me of a bit in Terry Pratchett's Interesting Times where a character points out that while a potential leader may be intent on doing everything for "the people", they hadn't actually asked any normal people what they needed/wanted...

I had some bad news today, my car require 2 tyres for the MOT, so LBA is stopped for a short time.

Mine went through eight pushrods, eight rockers, and a new cam belt kit recently. It should be cheaper than a new engine, but not sure by how much!

" Mine went through eight rockers".

Take care when driving near motorcyclists!

Seve Ballesteros has died, he was only 54.

I am not a golf fan by any means, but he was a great player - the non-golfer's golfer is how I heard him described.

RIP Seve.

Seconded Gwyn - shame there are not more sportsmen like he was - very sad day and far too soon for a brave young man.

RIP Seve

Hoegaarden, heard so much about it on here, I'm trying it now. Seems ok.

Not as good as it used to be sadly. Although InBev were forced to keep brewing it in Hoegaarden it doesn't seem the same as it was in the old days.
Still seems to win prizes though, and it does go down very nicely on a warm day like today (it was 27 here today).

Merlot for me too. With a goats cheese and walnut quiche.
Had a lot of BBQs lately and didn't fancy yet more meat.
The promised thunderstorm seems to have missed us. It is warm and humid here - 19C still at nearly 11 pm.

Trouble is it's too hot to sit in my attic working on my photos - I still have the ones from my UK trip to work through yet .

Not that I am complaining. I'd rather have this weather than the photos tbh .

We had about an inch (25mm) of Staffordshire sunshine last night - very considerate. Today is bright and the grass looks as if it's grown already.

Apparently we had thunder and lightening, but I must have slept through it.

I wish I could sleep through the pigeon chorus though - bellowing down the chimney "My feet hurt - My feet hurt" at least it sounds like that at 5 in the morning.

regards
Bernard

It sounds like some TLC is needed. Disk Cleanup? Defragment?

Have you purged the cache in Photoshop? Have you allocated a scratch disk that actually has enough free space on it?
Best regards, John

You can purge the Photoshop memory to clear it, but that should be done anyway when closed down and restarted.

The scratch disk is the drive or portion of a drive that Photoshop uses when it runs out of RAM. This is best as a separate drive if possible, and will speed up the process enormously. You will find the setting for scratch disks under Preferences. You can also define several disks, to be used in order.

If your drive is very full, Photoshop will run slowly.
Best regards, John
