Have fun Bernard. I understand that grandchildren are more fun than children

The advantage with grandchildren is that you are allowed to spoil them thoroughly, then send them back to their parents
Seriously though, grandchildren are great fun. We have eight, from 17 yrs down to 3 yrs. Glad we had our own children early enough to still enjoy the next generation, and to be of some help when it comes to babysitting.
This weekend we have two staying with us, the 3 years old and his sister of 7.

Our grandchildren are 13 & 10 growing up to fast, but we still spoil them.
Roll on when they take me to the pub for a beer or two.

Shot in available light (so not as good as I'd like) so as not to wake him.
He has blue eyes and a voice that carries. I'd forgotten how long a small pair of lungs can hold a note, and do it again as they breath in as well. Not bad for less than 24hrs old.

Actually Bernard, I think you've blown the 'pointless' bit of this thread.

Well I'll bring it back to pointless then .
Just had asparagus for my dinner.
Locally grown ( 5 minutes away), great big thick white spears of heaven, accompanied (since it was our first asparagus of the year) by new potatoes, ham and Hollandaise sauce. Washed down by a glass or three of Riesling. Yummy.
Now sitting in the garden in a postprandial haze .

Couldn't make my mind up this year about the new format of 'Masterchief. But I think 'The Great British Menu' has definitely Jumped the Shark.

I gave up on Masterchef a long time ago. What was a gentle programme became gradually more bleeuch, and the new (Australian) format turns it into X-factor meets the Apprentice with cooking thrown in. The Dutch adopted the Australian format to. Really nasty.
Well it is getting to nippy to sit outside much longer so I guess I shall pack up and head indoors. Either that or find a fleece to put on.
