Careful there Gwyn you could have a point. I found my netbook really handy for travel. Not so much travelling now so the netbook is gathering dust
A quick reply before heading for bed.

My main PC lives in the attic. My husband's PC is in his Black Hole/music room/office on the ground floor. If we want to talk when both using our PCs we Skype each other.
With the netbook I can sit in the next room to him and surf and watch tv. I can also take it with me when I babysit the grandsons. So it will get lots of use, even when we aren't travelling.Just need a mouse now.
I shall investigate what there is and try some out.

Now to bed ready for tonight's episode of Book at Bedtime.
I got a netbook to use as an image vault when travelling. My mouse came from B&M and only cost £1.99 and it's optical!

As opposed to optics which are behind the bar or in front of the camera body!

Hmm....
Cheers, HG

They have a built in recovery programme, plus of course you make a back up to a hard drive and to a DVD, using a portable DVD player, or your main PC to burn it.

Unlike the iPad they do have USBs .

USB boot and install of Win7 is more than possible, it's highly recommended and extremely rapid.

No it's also for outdoor sport like climbing, hiking and mountain biking besides that I like to swim so the depth meter sounds like a fun function.
