According to the Beeb it is not clear why but it is a world wide phenomenon.
My husband says he's still getting as much as ever though.

I just let them drop out of the spam folder rather than deleting them as they are always good for a laugh.

You have more interesting spam than I do - most of mine is in Cyrillic so I have no idea what it is on about. That and offers to extend my member .
Current spam count is now 7.
It all gets filtered into spam and I usually throw it out at the end of the day, but I'm waiting to see how it goes now.
I'm enjoying the spam holiday.

there are *lots* of new forum spammers, though...
I get some chinese ones at work, but the filters are pretty good these days.

You need to go online and access your e-mail via the online version. The Spam folder there will be overflowing with things that are Spam, but also with things that are not.I've been with Virgin Broadband for about 2 years and have
never received any spam.......... should I complain
I check this folder every day or so to make sure e-mails have not been caught by Virgin's rather over-enthusiastic filter.

Thanks John, I've never used the online email so I'll have to try
and find which of about three logons that they gave me to use
I've not noticed any emails that haven't come through.

Only 4 messages in the spam box. One of which was spam and two
that I never received from ebay about closure of a group I was
subscribed to. One off Pentax Forums, not sure why that went
in with the spam? I get stuff almost everyday off them.
So 1 proper spam mail in 2 1/2 years
5000+ messages in the inbox though that I've already downloaded they
should be automatically deleted. I'll have to check back on that.

Spam messages are automatically deleted after 30 days, so your 4 messages wwere this year only. That's still not much Spam, but the ones to watch are those messages which you might want and might have bnever received.

silly question: when prepping metal for paint, what grade wet & dry to use? it's the base of the lamp and it was obviously too well done (I think it was 800?) because at one point I was going to polish. Then it turned out it is stainless and alu, so polishing won't look right.
It's intended to be high-gloss blue (2 coats primer, 3-4 blue, 3-4 gloss lacquer). So I think 180 should be enough....
The third coat of blue crazed after I'd sanded some of the imperfections out. Then it turns out I can simply scrape the paint off with my fingernail. OK; time to re-do.

For me I work on the basis of start small (big numbers) and if it doesn't get it off then work your way up and back down. One of the most important things is to wash it down before painting and make sure you keep the temperature constant whilst it's drying.

Congratulations on passing your course Dave. Does that mean we should meet up with Spider for a drink (now you know how to look after him when he has a turn!)
