Another pointless thread

Lucky you Gareth. My sympathies.

One of the "kids" over the road (now a young man of 20) is a semi professional DJ. We have had to put up with him learning the black art, and him doing his "mixes" for a few years now. It is bad enough in our house, which is as I said across the road, and through two sets of double glazing. How his parents can put up with it over their heads is beyond me.

No point in complaining - his pa is the local copper, and the sun shines out of son's you know where.

It was bliss this summer when he was away for a couple of months as in-house DJ at some resort or other. Now he is home again, and the whole street knows .

Strange isn`t it , that in this technologically advanced age with wireless headphones and other sound cancelling magic , people cannot appreciate that their personal "racket" might not be acceptable to others around them ?
I noticed in the press last week that a chap had been fined for recording the noise of his neighbour`s dog barking in the early hours and playing it back at her as revenge ????

Maybe we should play them at their own game and turn up the Vivaldi or dial 11 on the amplifier when playing the Ride of the Valkyrie or the Ring Cycle ?

As for the copper Gwyn - the rest of his station might not be as tolerant if you wrote or rang to alert them to this nuisance.

You can buy very good headphones which don't share your music with the surrounding area - look at KOSS "Plug" ones for example. They produce better sound quality than the cheap leaky ones supplied with all devices too!

He wears headphones when he is "performing", just not at home it seems.

My kids did their fair bit for noise pollution I admit - a guitarist and a drummer, but this constant kedunk kedunk is really headache inducing.

Hopefully he will have to get a real job soon. At the moment he is still getting invalidity benefit, since he was unable to finish school due to cancer. The cancer is cured, and he has even done tests to be accepted by the army which he past, though they have no vacancies now (recession and all) so quite why he still gets that benefit is beyond me.

I am not a snitch though.

I'd have thought the psychological warfare units would snap him up. Enemies would surrender within hours of him playing alleged music at full volume!

Pull the plug out? Or just forget to put more diesel in the generator?

A cricket bat would work.

Applied hard to the back of the head!

We had a noisy neighbour, then his mother moved out to live with her boyfriend(don't ask!)

He now rents the house from her and all is serene.

Our downstairs neighbour complains about everything. Cars not being parked properly, people coming to our house without asking his permission (honestly)!

Yet thinks it's reasonable to talk at the top of his voice below our bedroom window in the middle of the night.

Does carbon monoxide float up or down?

I have a feeling it goes down, it must be denser than oxygen as it has a carbon molecule attached to it.

Randomly dumping buckets of water out of your bedroom window in the middle of the night should do wonders. Especially if you lace it with food dye or something equally messy yet harmless.

When i grew up in the 60s we had a water container of sorts under the bed, the Elizabethans used to empty these out of the window shouting "'Garde leau"

You could try that.

Just had the dishwasher out, thumped it, turned it upside down and shaken it.

It's now doing a rinse cycle!

Seems something must have been stuck in a filter and the movement has dislodged it.

YAY!

£200 saved towards anew camera!
