But if you really want to damage your car, take a trip to Edinburgh. Almost every street has speed bumps, some of which make it impossible in most cars to travel at anything like the speed limit.
Most of the time you end up going over at 15mph! I'm all for limiting speeds but it has become ridiculous here.
Especially as all the business parks are built on the bypass to make it easier for people from outside Edinburgh to get there (but if you live here you're expected to use public transport)!
I'd happily take public transport, but it's either a bus and a train followed by a long walk (about 75 minutes), a bus (90 minutes) or the car (40 minutes).
Yet somebody (and I know who these people are) keep voting the same bunch of idiots in each time!
Rant over.

Oh - my back feels for you re speed humps - they can be really bad
Glasgow has plenty - but where I am I know exactly how to take them in Freda .
This morning was fun - got horses , and dogs , cycles and even joggers Hopefully some of those will do
Got some nice flowers too I think but it was windy and as for the water - never seen the White Cart there as full - the water was dark brown and flowing really really fast - there has been a lot of heavy rain.
Was lucky driving home - rain started lashing down , really heavy if you had been out in it you'd have been soaked in seconds flat . I was in Freda and it stopped as I drove into my garage

Get a proper car like my Pollokshields Panzer (OK, American built Merceded Benz ML320 Sport). Speed bumps? What speed bumps.
Have to confess to getting a fixed penalty last month for driving over a mini roundabout. In my defence, officer, all the white paint on it and the approaching roads had worn off; could that be why a police car was sitting in a side road watching it? Why had it not been repainted? Last week it was replaced by traffic lights.

They had to come and rebuild (lower) the speed humps near us - but it was only once the ambulances and buses started to have their suspension trashed that they would do anything about it though, until then it was "what are you complaining about you must have been going too fast" from the council...
Still shooting in the dark (literally and metaphorically)...

I had a £120 repair to my Smart almost certainly caused by speed bumps.

Around here is like an obstacle course. I have had hundreds of pounds worth of work done to suspension. The car is in the garage today, now more tracking problems with the steering....more hundreds of pounds including the service, the MOT....it's totally out of hand.
The irony is that before the local major road had speed bumps and pinch points: 1 accident.
After: 18 accidents.

There are five speed bumps in our street. It is a one way street, maybe 250 metres long, and residential only, yet they put 5 bumps in it. Everywhere here there are bumps, and roundabouts seem to be sprouting like mushrooms now too.
Though on one main road they did put a roundabout back to traffic lights because the queues were worse with a roundabout.
Having failed to learn from that mistake just one junction on they are currently building a roundabout to replace traffic lights. I give it a year...
An it all makes work for the working man to do, and it all gets paid for by the taxpayer .

Sounds about right John - read Honest John in the Telegraph Motoring section and see what he has to say - there are even potholes in some of the humps now apparently !!!
