Forgot you are being inundated up there is Glasgow.
We are enjoying a few more days of sun and warmth. 25C here at the moment, tomorrow around 30 and then thunderstorms again on Wednesday .
Just looked at the forecast for Glasgow . Looks like you'll need a snorkel on Wednesday.

Hi Techno, wife and I too had the kayaks on the water yesterday. Only paddled about 4 miles on the rive Stour. A tree had fallen accross the river about a quarter of a mile from Willy Lotts cottage. Made a good pic though. This was the first time out in a kayak with a K10 and tamron 28 - 300 (both sacrificial if the crunch comes).

We headed down to the Ardeche and on to Provence.
Blue skies, temperatures in the high 30s, good food and drink.
It's a bit of a shock getting back to reality!
And it's raining
Just posted the first image in the gallery, there'll be more over the next few days as I get my head around them.
Cheers, HG

Hi Cedric, this was my first real attempt at Kayaking and boy did the tutors make me work for it. I have always been a bit wary of boats or more to the point me in charge of boats, I'm sure my wife arrived in this world with a spinnaker flapping in the wind. She managed to get me on a RYA course last year after 24 years of nagging, I ended up in casualty on the first day. So having failed to bump me off, I like a lamb to the slaughter am now signing up to the local canoe club for lessons, not sure what she will try next . I think my next purchase is going to be a waterproof housing for my Camera, as it's guaranteed to take a plunge sooner or later.Hi Techno, wife and I too had the kayaks on the water yesterday. Hi Graham, well done. My wife had wanted to kayak since a young girl. We bought a couple of kayaks last September (birthday treats). Have paddled miles and miles since then and the relax factor is amazing. We joined our local canoe club and they are a great bunch. Using a local pool for training and the river Deben for a good evenings paddle. I confess to using a Panasonic compact waterproof but felt brave on Sunday. I love being on the same level with nature. I hope yoy really enjoy your paddling.

Canoeing, as opposed to kayaking has always appealed to me too, but I am not a good swimmer, which puts me off more than a bit.
My son has a two man canoe he uses when not sailing, and he has threatened to take me out in it sometime. If I like it I shall have to improve my swimming and sign up for canoe lessons.
We did think of hiring a canoe last year in the Pacific NW, but it was spring and the rivers were in full flood, so it was not a good idea for novices.

At that price I wouldn't complain, it's just cost me £76 for six of us eating at the buffet.
That includes drinks as well.
Still....
...I could do another one...
