No complaint about the weather hear George, I was out playing in it camera in hand, I now have some possible renditions of a great sunsets and some blurry Barn Owl shots, I wish my 55-300 would not Violently refocus itself on some random twig that's 100 yards away from the subject even on spot focus. Now paying the penalty for the wine I drank last night, bumbling round the house at five in the morning feeling dehydrated.

Maybe it was "Just one wafer" to many.

It seems the weather are making some people grumpy though

On a different note, I know there are some guitar lovers here do you know what kind of guitar she is playing on?

Thank you Gwyn, it's intriguing how good she is at making those loops, it isn't trickery either since she does it live as well.

She also have a strange way in holding her guitar, does that have a name maybe? link
Gwyn I believed your husband play guitar, can he also play like that? It looks funky ^^

That is tapping - it comes originally from bass players and guitar players have developed further.
She does play it normally too link.

My husband plays mostly blues - fingerpicking and bottle neck, but also rock and pop.

Very interesting Gwyn, thank you
I always found guitars interesting instruments but never really looked into them, maybe I should try it once.
I also find these quite interesting link with the longer neck it looks more active and I find the sound they make just special.

That's great, does he play electric or acoustic and is he in a band?

Shamishen - tough to play.

He plays both and yes he plays in two bands - one is called the Opa's . They play weekly together and then he plays with another band once a month. Never for money, but they do perform at birthdays and the like on occasion. He also plays at home daily, and records himself too.
I used to play bass guitar but my arthritis put a stop to that sadly.
My middle son also plays guitar really well, and the youngest is a drummer, so we had our own house band for a while .

Meant to add that GBA is as bad and even more expensive than LBA so be careful if you get into guitars Stefan

I love a challenge
No idea if you can get lesson here to play the shamishen

That's super, they play blues you say. I know who I can call for the wedding band then, although ain't sure if the misses likes blues though

Too bad you can't play any more, you probably quite miss it

Wonderful family you have, it's super to grow up with music I think.
My mom can sing sort off but she can dance very well and gave lessons so music was almost on constantly in the house, very nice.
I had some piano lessons but that's everything, maybe I should start practising again.

I know what you mean with GBA, an old friend off mine has that and another old friend is an audiophile and has a big installation as an hobby that he rent out sometimes.

Now see what you have done Stefan!

I showed him the Kaki King video. He said to me that is what I want for Christmas.
What I said a lap steel? if so you can think again.
No the loop effect she has. He's been thinking of getting it for a while now and having seen that has decided to get one. He'll get it as a pedal though, easier for him.
I'd better start saving.

The band doesn't only play the blues - they play all sorts, including lots of Dutch stuff. Blof, De Dijk, etc, Anouk even when they have a female singer there. Plus lots of new stuff, but it is all mostly MOR, nothing too extreme, though my husband occasionally gets them to play different stuff.

Take up the piano again - I always wanted to play but was never any good at it. I envy piano players sooo much.

Whoopee! I have the week off. Normally at this point I'd be thinking about getting up at Argh o'clock tomorrow morning, but not this week. I am going to spend a couple of days just chilling then time to get some photography in. The inevitable trip to see my feathered friends at Arundel WWT, maybe a trip to the aircraft museum at Southampton (birthplace of the Spitfire) or maybe the Bluebell railway.

SOunds like the bouwvak here in the Netherlands. Nearly all building trades get the same 3 weeks off, though like the school holidays the weeks vary depending on where you are in the country.
No fair to kick it all off though.

Get out with your camera and take some fair photos

Over 1 million Dutch people are away on holiday this week. Schiphol handled some 450,000 people coming and going over Saturday and Sunday.

It is nice and quiet around me at the moment with most of the neighbours away.

Next Saturday is Black Saturday when driving on the roads of Europe is equal to insanity. It was bad enough this weekend with queues of 5 hours for some alpine tunnels, and the inevitable massive jams on French motorways, but next Saturday is supposed to be worse.

Makes me glad I don't have to go away in school holidays .
