Well we've been lucky here the last couple of days weatherwise. A few kilometres away a woman was killed when a tree fell on her, and another one was killed when a tornado hit the camp site she was staying on and blew 20 caravans into a lake. It also flattened 5 electricity pylons.
Puts my leaking roof into perspective.
We've had a nice breeze and a shower. A bit more rain forecast tomorrow then back to summer and 35 - 30C for a few more days.
At least it was reasonable cool and dry while we built a new back fence today. Got wet walking to the Chinese for dinner though.

Great sunset, but no camera with me of course.

Well - I hope that when I get to Belgium in August it will be summer .

It's dry now - but it's getting darker and we still have a wind

I hope so too, but with having had a lovely July maybe we're pushing it a bit.
Though the Ardennes often have glorious weather while we have horrible stuff and vice versa of course.
The Belgian GP at Spa is at the end of August - it often chucks it down for that. Just so you know

And even if it does rain you'll still have Belgian beer

Hmm - I'm going to be there from 13 to 20 August - so here's hoping .

Beer will help of course - but some decent weather would be even better

God, you people are spoiled.

We've had the sunniest weather in the UK this year for ages, and you're whingeing about a couple of days of rain.

You'd whinge more if you were subjected to a hose-pipe ban.

I think it's been a great year, weather-wise. Chilly in January, perhaps, but nice bright days.

Damn. Not sure whether I meant to say it has been an excellent year.

It rained in Montmartre Wednesday, and boy did it rain! But bad weather brings exciting photo opportunties. Now we have weather-resistant bodies and lenses there are no excuses!

Get out there and use them...
Best regards, John

Ah but the problem is George, it pisses it down all summer and we are still subjected to hosepipe bans because the water falls in the wrong place

No - we are subject to a hosepipe ban up here because of the MILLIONS of litres of water United Utilities waste daily - amd we have to pay for their incompetence..................
