Pan Choice in Shipley.

The meal was OK and the lager was drinkable at least, unlike most places I've been.
Cheers, HG

I miss "English" Chinese food.

Dutch Chinese food is very different, as is US Chinese food. Never been to China so I don't know about Chinese Chinese food.

We had a quick shower yesterday, but that was all. I was sitting outside with my netbook at the time, but the parasol kept me dry. Not as warm today thank goodness.

My wife used to flat share with a Cantonese Chinese lady, she could cook the most amazing steamed fish dishes, worlds apart from the average UK Chinese restaurant cooking style. I believe that most UK restaurants use an Anglicised version of Hakka rather than Mandarin cooking, feel free to prove me wrong on this point, I'm no expert.

Just had a Bacon & mushroom sandwich

Hard to beat

I am a bit cagey about Chinese food due to the Mono Sodium Glutinate it may contain. I try to make my own but it is seldom as tasty as a take-away.

We have an excellent Mandarin restaurant in Hilversum. It is seriously expensive though, and frequented by BNers (Bekende Nederlanders - Famous Dutch) who can be a PITA to share a restaurant with.

My brother's partner is Malaysian Chinese - she cooks some wonderful meals out of almost nothing.

The problem with mushrooms is finding ones with some taste, not ones that grew in a chemical gloop in under 4 minutes. Same thing with tomatoes, which would also be an enhancement to the Mk1 bacon sandwich.

I'm not sure whether putting mustard on a bacon sandwich is a waste of bacon or a waste of mustard (answer C:- all the above probably). Mustard with sausages - definitely, with bacon, not my taste.

Congratulations on becoming a Grand dad Tozza.
