Another pointless thread

You could try one of those no win no fee outfits. Had he been reasonable about it then it could be forgiven but his attitude stinks. At the end of the day it is theft. It looks as if it isn't the first time and it won't be the last. He needs a kick in the legal clauses.

For the past 30 years a local artist has created paintings (oils and watercolours) that are remarkably similar to some of my photographs (even to the extent of the same people being in the works) - I've considered suing him or negotiating a commission of his sales (although most of the money he makes goes to a local charity) - But I've considered that might be a little harsh - after all he is my older Brother

Never mess with an older brother. But if it's a younger brother...

(OK, that might be biassed, I'm the oldest sibling.)

Just in from a walk in the garden, 27 steps in total!

But a quick check shows we should be OK for coal and wood this winter, last delivery was a week ago and the wood shed's full.

As are the coal sheds, now all I need is a beer to re-hydrate after all the walking...

And that is how this thread started in 2010. Life going round in circles?

Anyway, now for something completely different. It used to be coat hangers. But now I'm finding it's allen keys that are breeding uncontrollably in dark drawers and cupboards . Is it happening to anyone else?

I blame my daughter and her fixation on IKEA. Mind it could be me. Have you seen how many come with a tripod these day

Back off holiday and just catching up. On my FB page and the post where I righted the wrong to inform people what had happened as I saw the image of his mural was going around social media pages with him taking the credit and no one even knowing it was mine or even for sale, it's all blown up and I've received a load of grief from it. It ruined the last 48 hours of my holiday with a bombardment of abuse etc from the painter as well as, I guess, his mates who were there to defend him. I had get a life, I'm a knob, a Karen, hope I go bust etc and it got tiring saying the same thing over and over again defending myself. In the end I turned off notifications as to stop the abuse coming to my phone and watch so I could try and enjoy the last few days but it made me so anxious I ended up turning off my phone and just turning it on occasionally to update family or add a pic to social media via the share from phone gallery so I didn't have to open FB before shutting it back down again.

Tomorrow I go to the company who's building it is and find out if possible how much he was paid to do it and what, if any, due diligence they did to make sure the image was fine to use etc.

I know doing this will bring a fresh round of abuse etc so it's going to be a bumpy ride for a while

Good luck Gareth. You've got right on your side. Please be careful that you don't get sucked in to interminable and unpleasant wrangling that stops you moving forward with life, family, photography etc. Knowing when to walk away and not waste any more time and effort is an important part of any negotiation (been there, got the scars...).

Steve.
