Hi Gwyn, good to 'see' you again .
This is a good week for meeting up again. Yesterday evening was a gathering of some old friends in a pub - the last time we did it was pre-pandemic .

Hi Gwyn, great to see you back. Hope all is well. Kris.

Hallo en welkom terug. Doet me denken aan Bobby Ewing die uit de douche komt.
Good to hear from you.

Pentax K100D change of plan. I had thought of disposing of my first DSLR, and then changed my mind. It had been sitting on the shelf in my office since I purchased my K5 in about 2009 I think. So I charged up some AA batteries, stuck them in the K100 and added F28mm, lo and behold, it works fine, I now intend to set myself a task, for one week only, the K100 and 70mm Limited, then I will see. Shutter VERY loud.
Just passing thru

And now the days are getting shorter, nights are drawing in, sun getting lower, and it's only 6 months to Christmas. Will anyone join me in starting a campaign to move the mid-summer solstice to a better time of the year, such as the middle of August?

I would if it would do any good but it's all to do with orbital mechanics and a wonky axis - but then, isn't that what mechanics are meant to fix? You'd better talk to them instead.

Life here gets more weird by the day. This afternoon I answered the door to a delivery driver holding a large tortoise; I wish I had been quick enough to say it should at least have been properly parcelled up but it turns out he found it on the main road heading towards the Indian takeaway. My neighbour came over and claimed it, saying his wife must have left the gate open. Then this evening I get a call from Sharon wanting to meet me on Sunday night at the allotments - to document a man setting up a moth trap. Who says you need to live in the city to experience life?!

I had a major dilemma this evening: either (a) set up the kitchen macro kit and take stacks of ladybird pupae; or (b) open a bottle of Piddle brewery's finest, sit back and relax. The beer won. But did I do the right thing???
