Well at least the lady at HMRC had the grace to laugh as I paid my bill, when I said I would have to bin the cruise brochures now.

The K3iii jet black limited edition camera and 20-40mm.

Want one so bad!

Showed my wife and she said it'll only go up in value and all looked promising with getting my wife on board but then - delivery only in Japan

Only one thing for it then, Gareth - a lengthy holiday in Japan. You'll need it to get the camera. Your wife will need it for you to get permission to get the camera.

After 5 days, the grandkids have gone, all 35 of them. Well, it was really only 2 plus my eldest daughter and husband, but it felt like 35...

The grandson is still here so it's a BBQ in the late afternoon. It's good as since I've cleaned the BBQ grill, the ladies are sorting food etc and will be making burgers later. I'll tinker and chill.
Too far from a shore.

This really has not been my year. First I have surgery on both eyes (well one surgery and one just laser) for torn retinas. Then a week and a half ago I banged my little toe and broke it. I am told it can take up to six weeks to recover.

Still, there are plenty in the world with far more serious problems....mustn't grumble.

Or if they did the premium would hurt more than the injuries..

Anyone doing anything celebratory this weekend? Or taking photos of flags and bunting?

Stepson and family have come, with strawberries, for a celebratory cream tea in the warm sunny garden this afternoon. We provide tea, scones, cream, with clotted cream and jam for the scones.

The village are planning a free bring-your-own picnic tea on the sports field for Sunday afternoon, with games and music. Poor forecast though

At the checkout in Sainsbury’s the guy on the next aisle filled the entire length of the conveyor belt with bottles of gin and other spirits - I want to know where his street party is! Our street party has been brought forward to this afternoon due to the poor forecast for Sunday, so I shall be busy making cucumber, egg and cress, and salmon sandwiches, added to which will be trifle and cakes all washed down with Buck’s Fizz and tea. On another note I just sold £650 worth of Lee Filters on eBay but they have taken £80 in commission & vat so I will need cheering up this afternoon!

Enjoy you street parties, folks!

No street party in my street this time round. We did one for the last jubilee and thoroughly enjoyed it in spite of the weather. Even got the front page of the local paper. But since then people have moved, personal circumstances have changed, we're all 10 years older and none of the new inhabitants of the street took up the challenge. So if the weather will let me, I'll be spending today trying to get the front lawn looking like a lawn after No Mow May - time to get the strimmer out!
