The East coast is far less bitey than the West.
I can also confirm that January is midge free.
Your experience reminds me of an occasion we visited Glen Affric in August. The little blighters waited until we had got out of the car and were putting our walking boots on. Not being in a position to leg it for at least two or three minutes, we had to endure them. If I ever need to go on a weight loss course, I know where to start.

I was dreading the well reported fever but thankfully didn't feel much at all other than a bit of soreness around the jab spot in my left arm. In fact I was more than familiar with the feeling having overexerted my right arm in a session of stone skipping a few days before.

Not quite as rich as he was before he and his wife split up. I believe it cost him a lot more than 15 quid.
On a totally different matter, new glasses for close-up and distance/driving have arrived. The world seems much more in focus now. And all done without a trip to Barnard Castle.

The Yanks have got hold of 'The Watch'...
...all I can say is it bears no resemblance to the book, the characters are unrecognizable and props more 'Steam Punk' than Discworld.
Terry would hate it.
