That was our intention too, but fighting our way through Rudolph and friends was just too much. We gave up and left.

Well done! My other half is houseplant mad, which accounts for around half of my current photoset. I went to a garden centre a couple of days ago and actually bought some plants !

That said, this Apache Chilli seed has just germinated in my care, so I’m getting too excited about it.

Thank you! And Wales is pretty high on the list for chilli heat too, apparently, in the Dragon’s Breath Chilli!

Well that's it for TV, certainly for the next week or two.
Three weeks watching the Tour de France and remembering the places visited and new ones to go too.
Giro coverage will be on Quest as I understand it, just a highlight show but better than pafing, then back to ITV4 for the Vuelta..
Beer o'clock.

Haven't watched it this year. Probably because it is on so late in the year. Too ainful to watch as well.
About to settle down for Mortimer and Whitehouse. If you'd told me a couple of years ago I would find a programme about fishing compulsive viewing I'd have laughed at you.
Even better Only Connect is back tomorrow.

about time.....just ending
When Michael Hutchence of INXS died in 1997, Nick Cave went to his funeral and sang this song (into my arms) to his coffin, requesting that all the cameras of the international media be shut down. Michael was a good man and Nick loved him.

Maybe I missed something but that is a bit left field! Anyhow on that theme I just heard an interview on the radio with Rob Halford of Judas Priest who has just published a new book. I am no fan of heavy metal (and judging from the interview neither is the Queen “why is it so loud?”) but he sounds a nice bloke still with his Black Country accent and some great stories.
