I was just going to say....

...but you beat be to it!

I use frozen chillies, they cut easily and tend not to lose too much oil before they get into the pot, so my fingers are (usually) OK.

MOD, I thought that was the ministry of defence, is it they who censor posts so that foreign (canikony?) agents don't learn our secrets?

Quick edit:- beer's causing spooling mastacks!

Shh, if the CaniKGB realise we're on to them they'll unleash an operation that'll make Smiert Spionen look like a sandpit full of toddlers!

Hide your primes and pretend that you only shoot in green mode, that'll confuse them.

..but I don't have any primes, I have only got cheap zooms and is there another mode?

Are they looking?

No?

Good (switches back to Av and slots on 100mm macro)

I'll throw the F 35-80mm at them, that should slow them down.

Seriously, I think that's probably the best use for that lens! I paid £10 for it attached to a mint MZ-50 before I found any online reviews, and it transpired that while a compact 80mm lens was good on paper it was a bit pants in reality.

Not an insult it was well deserved and I'm sure the mods thought so too, I am now a proud owner of a box latex gloves cutesy of out local cash n carry.

What always amazes me is how many forums people manage to spent time on, I have trouble keeping up with this one.

I must try that - I gave it a brief go on my K-m and then rapidly put it aside!

Mixed day. Finished and successfully developed another roll of black and white (my KM is therefore in perfect working order) but also found that my ancient, rare and rather lovely SMC Pentax 85-210mm has a speck of something nasty growing on one of the internal elements. The lens was perfect when I bought it, this has evidently turned up in the past few months. I've put it in the airing cupboard for now on the grounds that fungus doesn't like dry heat, so it shouldn't spread. I really don't know what to do about it, I suspect professional cleaning of a fairly complicated zoom would cost a lot more than I paid for the lens.

I also found that my newly-acquired 2nd version M 28mm f2.8 has something spidery on one element, but as that's a simple prime I should be able to pop the front element group out and clean it. Just need to persuade the finishing ring to unscrew so I can get in with the lens opening tool!

If he's in there then you have a BIG problem.

Not as big as his though...

Nah, it's more like a very undernourished spider on one edge!

Can't get the finishing ring out at all, did try going in from the back but couldn't remove enough to get at the problem area. I've now put it in a separate case with a silica gel bag which should stop it getting any worse. It doesn't appear to have any effect on my test shots, it just annoys me when I end up with stuff that isn't quite perfect any more.
