Another pointless thread

I got a Humanspace mesh chair from John Lewis, my old cheapo office chair had no give along the front edge so long hours of pressing against my legs probably wasn’t doing any good. I also tried a very expensive American mesh chair but this one was much more comfy. Only thing is it skates over a wooden floor like it’s on ice and Gill ended up halfway across the landing but I am fine with it.

Ah well my search will go on.
I can see the chair in the link, and mine is similar but not the same - as I said, I found mine needed a car seat pad to make it more comfortable.
K-3 II, K-3 and a K-70 from SRS (having now relegated the K-30 /"K-50" to a backup body), & some Sigma and Pentax lenses (and a lot of old 35mm gear!)

Costco don't allow us Furreners to see pictures it seems.

Just spent the after fitting a pair of sliding doors on a cupboard built into the slope of the roof. The open cupboard was already there, built by the previous owner, just begging for doors. It wasn't the easy job it should have been, but they are done now, apart from the handles, which came with screws too long for the panels. Don't have any shorter screws of the right diameter of course. Sigh.

That's the one, and very comfy it is as well!

It looks it.
Sadly it isn't on sale in the Netherlands. Amazon.de have it but I don't buy from Amazon.

No more progress on my room today, and probably none tomorrow either as I have an appointment at the hospital and who knows how long that will take. In theory it should be over and done with in about fifteen minutes, (plus 30 minutes there and 30 minutes back) but even with an 8.30 appointment I don't hold out much hope of them being on time with it.

Mesh chairs are definitely a good thing for people with bad backs, according to Mrs. Lubbyman. She has both. There's a mesh back and padded seat (the chair, not Mrs. L .). Getting the chair has made sitting at a desk comfortable for the first time for years. The problem round here is finding a place where you can try it before buying. Staples used to be the place to go but that has gone. The place we used has just closed its shop and become internet only.

Same here Steve. Nowhere to try before you buy, (apart from Ikea and that is 90 mnutes away) and a pain to order online and then have to return something the size of a chair if it isn't right.
We've lowered the height of the desk legs today which should help me - it was always too high. Now all I need is a desktop.

The grandchildren (and their parents) have gone, the house is in a mess, food is running low, a trip to Tesco is imminent - but it's quiet again!!

Much as I love my sons and grandsons visiting I love it even more when they have gone home and peace returns .

Another gale blowing through.

Wood for the desk bought, "new" cupboard put together from bits of old Ikea wardrobes, and a Billy hack planned. Progress, slow, but progress.

I have to be able to get to my camera by next Saturday no matter what.

Sounds like you may just manage that Gwyn, good luck.

I have to start re-negotiating with my internet provider, and ask them why they've raised my bill with a month left...

...ah the joys of modern life...
Cheers, HG

K110+DA40, K200+DA35, K3 and a bag of lenses, bodies and other bits.

Mustn't forget the Zenits, or folders, or...

PPG entries.

That is a very odd thing for them to do HG. Hopefully you can get a good deal somewhere without to much pain.

We have everything bundled - Mobiles, TV, landline and internet. We had it like that at th eold house because we had highspeed fibre internet there and the company was one of only three providers on it at the start. When we moved we decided it was as easy to stay with them as start splitting it all up. We double mobile internet and free calls for having the bundle, handy when we are travelling, and our oldest son, who is registered as living here (but thankfully doesn't) also gets the deal. We can share Mbs too, which we often do in the summer when he is sailing and has no access to shore WiFi.

Hoping to get some photos of Friesian horses next weekend. We are going to our daughter out law's veterinary practice open day and they have some Frisians putting on a show and there to be admired. I expect it will be busy there though.

Marks & Spencer shut its doors for the last time yesterday. Didn't even have a closing down sale, either.

Nothing said yet about what (if anything) will replace it. Can't be a Poundland, that's next door where Woolworths used to be. Strangely, a real photographic retailer is managing to survive further along the street - and they even sell Pentax.

The last time I was in M&S the men’s clothing section had been reduced to a small corner at the back of the first floor, the rest given over to women’s underwear which you have to navigate first - shades of a Father Ted episode!

M&S were a godsend when we unexpectedly had to buy funeral clothes whilst away in the camper, even if it was M&S at retail hell Bluewater, which is slightly better than retail hell Lakeside.
I used to enjoy the occasional sortie into M&S Amsterdam too. Those were the days!
