Ordered a sofa from Laura Ashley last month, I just hope they stay solvent long enough to deliver it!

Mrs HG is watching 'Only Connect'...
...It's beyond me so I'm surfing the net instead!
Finally got the main light in the living room working today. A little re-wiring was needed after a rogue screw found the original cable.
Not my fault, just one of those things that happen when you have a room replastered.
still, we can now see to do jigsaws....

Would that be Mifsuds?.... Strangely, a real photographic retailer is managing to survive further along the street - and they even sell Pentax.
Steve
(if it is, then they don't advertise in photo mags as still selling Pentax nowadays!)
K-3 II, K-3 and a K-70 from SRS (having now relegated the K-30 /"K-50" to a backup body), & some Sigma and Pentax lenses (and a lot of old 35mm gear!)

How dare you, sir! Mifsuds is in the county of Devon, not Dorset. Such confusion is considered heresy round here! Would that be Mifsuds?
My local photographic shop is Wessex Photo (not to be confused with Wex Photo Video which is an entirely different company). Five branches in Dorset, minimal web presence. The result of mergers and closures over many years. It does a steady trade in photo frames, prints, accessories, compact cameras etc. Not much stock of higher end kit but they can get anything and might price-match if you talk nicely to them. Which I do, because I knew the manager of the local shop when he was a young kid - and his mum and dad and aunty (must have been 40 years ago - eeek! :shock.

My sincere apologies to Dorset, Wessex Photo and yourself!

Apologies accepted! My sincere apologies to Dorset, Wessex Photo and yourself!
Wessex Photo once managed what I thought would be impossible - getting reps from both Pentax and Nikon in a small shop at the same time, both demonstrating their kit. The reps seemed to get on very well with each other. And it's the only time I've seen and handled a 645 (D, I think).

The C4 Picasso is now just a memory, it needeed a new clutch (at around a grand!) and 2 new tyres..
We now have a bigger Citroen Spacetourer, it was too good a deal.
Next step is to get ourselves sorted for a trip down France in April, when Mrs HG retires.

I love Only Connect. Rarely manage an answer but I do enjoy it.
Sorry about the old car but it sounds like the new one will meet all your needs - I had to look it up as I'd never heard of it. I see there is a C4 Spacetourer and a minibus sized Spacetourer just to confuse me.
I'd hoped to head to France later in March in the camper but now we have an expensive trip to the UK end of April for my brother's 75th birthday I doubt we will go. Much as I love my brother I was looking forward to a week or so away in March.
Since His Nibs' sister is coming back wth us we won't go away in May either.
Maybe it is time to sell it

I’d posted in another thread about me taking pictures of Ironbridge from down by the river. Well I was able to do that after getting talking to a gentleman working on porch roof of the building in the middle of this picture. He was telling me it was the final job of a conversion from tired old boathouse to holiday home. Heart breaking.

Hang on to the camper Gwyn, you can always move it.

It's the minibus type, it'll give us room to carry the pushbikes, or go camping, or just filling up with wine for the last trip to France before Boris stuffs everything up...
..sorry, slipped into a rant there.

Sounds great HG. Perfect for your French forays.
Just heard my son is stuck in Abu Dhabi with amongst others Chris Froome, after the cycling was cancelled. No idea when he will be allowed home. As long as he keeps healthy...

Good news is some of the cyclist are able to leave. My son is still stuck in his hotel room awaiting his test results. I imagine TV crew are bottom of the testing heap though. He says he's doing OK and not going stir crazy yet.
Went to the vet open day yesterday. Sadly some of the outside events were moved inside because of the weather, making photography impossible due to the numbers of people there. Did spot a few Pentaxes though, but they were all for sticking into horsey orifices!

Water water everywhere...
The garden is awash yet again after another downpour.
I just turned on the tap to make a cuppa and no water came out.
Checked with the neighbours and luckily they also have no water (so it isn't an expensive in house problem).
Phone the water company, and hear a pumping station 20kms away is broken and the whole are is without water. Nothing on any of the local news services though!
Hopefully fixed before six is what they said, but boil the water for 24 hours after that and don't do any washing.
Now is it too early for a beer?

The last time I was in M&S the men’s clothing section had been reduced to a small corner at the back of the first floor, the rest given over to women’s underwear which you have to navigate first - shades of a Father Ted episode!
Click and collect for free was useful, now it's pay to collect at a local collection point, pay for home delivery or collect for free at the nearest M&S but pay for parking and fuel (16 mile round trip).
