Ah, Coventry. They won the City of Culture 2021 competition. This is probably why they are digging up so many roads - great holes and diggers everywhere. I think they are mining for all that culture they will need in a couple of years' time.
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

I think it is part of the deal. Leeuwarden is European City of Culture this year and they dug up all the roads for miles around in anticipation. All done now (sort of). They are closing the city centre for the opening ceremony in a couple of weeks.

Lobster for tea and now relaxing with a bottle of red. This hitting LX lark is quite good. Don't feel any change yet.
Inspiration is rarer than a plate glass camera.....

The day after I turned 70 I did my usual morning excercises and my knee joints started clicking like a Mexican band! What, already? Anyhow, joined a gym and decided to revive my very modest running; one morning recently I saw the first red kite around here so hoping for some good shots if I catch it again.

Wait a while longer Gary. His Nibs will be LXX in March and is now beginning to feel it.

Sounds like you had a good day anyway! Happy birthday and here's to the next LX!

Is this to get inspiration for this week's weekly comp entry?

And tbh, not planning on stopping vaping for a bit

I had an accident at work some 11 years ago...

...my baccy and papers were in my locker back at the office...

....some 5 months later when I returned to work I hadn't had a cig since the crash...

...and still haven't to this day.

Giving up smoking is a hard thing to do and the temptation to start again is always there, but so far so good. Stick at it Derek.
Cheers, HG

For anyone like me that frets about how much kit to carry and what it weighs, I have just seen the solution on a BBC4 documentary about Albert Watson. He drives around Skye scouting shots whilst in a van behind are three (yes three!) assistants with all his kit. As he strides off they porter everything including a stepladder and set up his tripod, hold an umbrella, monitor the shot on a laptop and report back, and generally do what ever is needed short of pressing the button. Maybe I am more fulfilled suffering for my art!

I'm nursing me cold with a Wild Turkey.
