Interest rates at 5%
That was a long time ago, just about the time I started to save for retirement...
.......got a lot put on one side and it earned less in interest than a missed VISA bill!
I ask you £25 for a missed payment?
Still, I got it back when I pointed out that I always pay in full and the bill must have got lost in the Xmas post (3 years ago this happened)
Oh well, I think the 'sheep need attending...

I remember the day interest rates went up to 15% - that was a really black day

In the run up to Christmas, well more like a short sprint now, I finally found a prezzie for Mrs HG.
She now has her shed and buys what she wants when she sees it, but she can't find a security light.
Guess what she's getting...

I remember 15% interest rates all too well. Our Dutch pension is on a low interest rate, but not as low as the rates are now. Sadly we still have a mortgage, but as it is a new one the interest rate is really low. Fixed it for 20 years, which should see us out!
Kitchen is finished and looks wonderful. Oven works a treat and is big enough for the turkey.
Enough food and drink in stock to cater for the five thousand (well three adult sons and two pre-teen grandsons, all with hollow legs) for three days.
House clean, tree decorated, presents all bought (though a stocking filler from Groupon hasn't arrived yet:evil.
Must be something important I've forgotten.
Have a great Christmas everyone.

Yes, Merry Christmas to all!
We too have stocked up and now it just awaits to welcome the family to the feast. Everyone comes here on Christmas day, some for dinner but everyone else for Christmas Tea. It's busy, it's hectic, it's manic, but we wouldn't want it any other way.
And in between courses I'll be on here to see who else is around. Maybe we'll chat!

Best seasonal wishes to all PentaxUsers! Hope you all have a safe time and get some great photos of events along the way!
I'm just realising that I've left it a bit late to get a bulk delivery of AA batteries .... So you'd better be braced for some K7 high ISO images!

It's been a dry day here so far as I'm collecting family from Germany at the local rail station at 17:30. Then a family evening meal and since there's no requirement for me to drive until Wednesday, I'll open a decent red.
Best wishes to all, make the most of the occasion and for those not with family or friends for what ever reason, stay tuned onto this thread and let's see if we can generate a feeling of companionship as the evening progresses.

Hope everyone enjoyed this day. Mrs Cedric and I just chilled out as due to family work commitments we had our Christmas Day yesterday. Tomorrow it`s invasion day with 5 Grandsons and it`s going to be great.
