Not really Barrie, after all beer's just yeast grain and water, a sort of runny bread...

Go on rub it in...
I can't afford to retire, but that's political so I'll just have another beer to drown.
Black Sheep tonight, only £1.29 at ALDI.
Sorry, to drown my sorrows

I can't afford to retire,
Knew that feeling a few years ago ( and probably will again in a few more years when inflation bites again )

I can't afford to retire,
K-3 II, K-3 and a K-70 from SRS (having now relegated the K-30 /"K-50" to a backup body), & some Sigma and Pentax lenses (and a lot of old 35mm gear!)

Beer is basically liquid bread, or bread is set beer. Leffe give a beer bread mix with a six pack. Very tasty, and the bread isn't bad either.
We couldn't afford to retire, but had no choice. A crashing pound really didn't help.
One reason I still have the K5ii. Moving to a smaller house in a cheaper area has helped somewhat.
The kitchen is finished and looks great.
Just enjoying a glass of Merlot.

Oh thanks for that, for some reason I was thinking of a paper cut-out but now I recall the Picasso drawing. Didn’t realise the connection between the two. As for the description, she’s Welsh, they have a way with words! ‘Giddy kipper’ anyone?

The reason for the Ikea kitchen is that we already have an extremely expensive, but poorly designed, kitchen, (installed for the previous owner) but no oven and nowhere to put an oven. The Ikea units have drawers which nearly match the kitchen units we already have. Adding a peninsula seemed the easiest way to add an oven.
