Still, every day I wake up and can get verticals is a bonus..

Retirement can be "hard" - happened to me nearly 3yrs ago when my last (and final!) contract ended somewhat prematurely - and, as I said at the time, "it'll take time for me to get used to it" - and, about a year later, I did!
K-3 II, K-3 and a K-70 from SRS (having now relegated the K-30 /"K-50" to a backup body), & some Sigma and Pentax lenses (and a lot of old 35mm gear!)

"Actual" meetings might be somewhat "difficult" - given that many of us live a long way from each other - but maybe a separate thread within this section of the forum, or even our "own" sub-forum?:

Does that work out cheaper with "split ticketing"?

We don't get a free bus pass, and even if we did it wouldn't work for pentirement meets.
Sorry, HG.I know you were hoping to be pensioned off a while ago.
His Nibs went straight back to work when he retired. It's only this last year that he has actually not worked. At least not paid work!

Just plan your meetings and bus journeys a year ahead and hope there isn't bus strike, tornado, flood, drunk driver................. on the day you want to start through to......the day you want to arrive because, if you catch local buses, it'll take you a "while" to get there!
