Good to see you again HG!. Interesting technique to repair your K5, a bit like if in doubt hit it with a hammer.

It's my birthday. I could have had a K3II but I resisted.

Must be going senile.

Happy Birthday for yesterday Gwyn, and senile?

Never!

Forgetting where the booze is, now that's a different matter...
Cheers, HG

A pair of grey partridges were mooching around in my small garden this morning, which is a first. Naturally by the time I fetched the camera they had flown!

I think a camera is the perfect bird scarer , I go out walking the dogs and there are birds everywhere ...get home feed dogs , go out without dogs but with camera ...not a bird in sight ....

Thanks everyone.

Sat out in the garden enjoying a G&T in the sun today, having found some decent T to go with my decent G. I knew where to find it too, so I guess I'm not senile, just daft.

Still not sure if I was daft to turn down a new camera,, but it has been such an expensive time, moving, needing new white goods, and then a new computer that I felt guilty about it.

The computer was a total bummer. First my backup disk died, then the computer died before the new back up disk got here. Good job I had put my photos onto another disk as well, but I have lost all my documents, and contacts .

That's tough Gwyn, I have everything backed up on 3 separate external drives as well as a second internal drive...

... It takes ages to do, but I pass the waiting time with a good G'n'T.

Cheers, HG

That's what is giving me 23C heat today. Sadly it is also what has killed at least one in Ireland.

it's only 15c here, but at 14.00 the street lights turned on and the crows came home to roost, it was that dark.

Nice orange sun at work
And my laptop as gone belly up
It will switch on but nothing else
Connected it to a monitor still no joy
Might get a new one with my retirement gift
cheers Neil

Down our way, it was totally cloudy at around 15.30 and then the sky turned a weird "pinky-orange" - difficult to be sure as I am partially colour-blind in that part of the spectrum. It was the sort of sky that makes you wonder "Uh Oh, what's coming now?!

Cleared by around 16.30 and now OK.
K-3 II, K-3 and a K-70 from SRS (having now relegated the K-30 /"K-50" to a backup body), & some Sigma and Pentax lenses (and a lot of old 35mm gear!)
