Another pointless thread

I agree Martin, but it is nice to check on the weather forecast occasionally while away, especially as we were experiencing 38C temps, which are not good for an old dog (or his old mistress for that matter!) when living in a tin can. We tried to find somewhere cooler, but mostly we failed.
We don't have a TV in the camper, and only use an iPod for music whilst on the road. We don't speak French so radio is a waste of time.

Ah, yes. I can see the point of WiFi in that case.

I had my hair cut two days ago - how pointless is that?

These days, when we book a cottage for a holiday, one of the basic requirements for us is WiFi. Everybody in our group wants to stay in touch with the world. It also means I can keep looking in here and I can post my daily image on ePHOTOzine.

Some people don't like mobile phones and the internet, we love them!
Best regards, John

We have just spent a week having to go to the pub to use their WiFi - it's been a chore

It's lucky that the Welsh ones are now open on Sundays.

I can remember having to leave Bethesda on a Sunday and head over to Llanrwst to go to a pub, despite the number of pubs in Bethesda.

My father was normally an excellent map-reader, but he bungled one Sunday near Tintern Abbey, ended up on the "wrong" side of the Wye, and had to have orange juice with his lunch. I remember him nearly choking on it.

27C forecast for here on Friday so I second that opinion (it's a miserable 13C at the moment :shock.

Have a good flight and enjoy your holiday.

I hope the weather is kind to you. Better than this anyway .

Internet connection is usefull, and I have piggy backed on unsecured connections in the past.

I have to go to Copenhagen for a week or so to meet some Swedish friends. It's our 30 anniversary of meeting on a ferry, in the bar, and that should give a clue as to what we'll be doing a lot of...

...see you all when I get back.
Cheers, HG

What happens if you don't go? They force you to spend a day in Ikea?

Have fun.

Back in blighty and sober, well as sober as normal.

Copenhagen was an eye opener! It's 13 years since we were there last, and things have changed.

The beer side is now dominated by a host of micro breweries in the city, Carlsburg isn't on offer as the only choice. Being with Swedish friends who know the city was an advantage, Benny took us to at least 5 bars/pubs with there own beers, all VERY drinkable.

Average price was around £6, but they were all above 5.9%ABV!

great city and well worth a visit.
Cheers, HG
