I had the same disappointment with Slimcea bread. I ate two loaves a day for a week and actually put weight on

I have sat on my settee watching The Goodwood Festival of Speed and now I am watching the TT - my better half says I'm being pointless.
K10D, K5 plus plenty of clueless enthusiasm.

The Assen TT? Have you see the guy cross the line on his knees?

Lots of visitors to it lost their licences for speeding. Two Germans were just a couple of Kms away when they were caught doing an average of 186km/h with a peak of 215km/h in a 100km zone. They were lucky not to lose their bikes as well as their licences, though goodness knows how they get the bikes home again.

Just scanned through about 200 slides and dumped 99% of them. All taken with a Pentax SFXn and two Sigma lenses which were I suppose the Kit lenses at the time, 28-50mm and 70-200mm I think but am probably wrong ? This would be in 1989-1990. Only about 500 more then I can resume a normal existence

The prroper TT finished a few weeks back, there's no comparison to the Isle of Man.

Great drinking weather!

On the second Marstons Pale Ale, already finished a Ricard and half a bottle of Cote de Rhone...

....nothing changes..

Watch your liver, HG. My first wife died of liver cirrhosis on that sort of diet, without the Marstons Pale Ale.

(I hope that I'm not being pointless)

Cedricd reporting in.

Been sunning it in the Outer Hebrides for a couple weeks. Such a superb place and the folk are so friendly you just want to stay. Photoed me a Corncrake which I`m afraid isn`t pointless. Nor is the fact that our 2 gallons of home grown red grape is now wine.
Enjoy life

Strange start to the Tour, but at least it gave somebody who's not a big name chance to wear the yellow jersey, let's see how things develop over the next two days in the low countries.

As an aside to the Tour, we did a 2 monthly visit to Booths and came away with 52 bottles of assorted beers, the 'local' well healed (read that as posh!) customers looked down their noses at such a quantity of beer. It's alright for them, they can call in daily for a 1/2 bottle of gin/scotch and nobody judges them.

Time to cut some logs with the new chain saw and then it'll be F1, come on Lewis!
Cheers, HG

In what way strange HG? Don't under-estimate the Aussie, - he won the t Tour de OZ or whatever it is called. A record breaking speed yesterday too.
The weather played a big part in it I think - the temperature and humidity rose a lot in the course of the trial.
We are due a mega thunderstorm this afternoon, right over the tour route, with strong winds too, so that could be interesting. It will also be interesting to see how they cope with the "pavé" the stretches of cobbles they go over on day 3 (or maybe 4?).

Good luck with the new saw.

I shall be cheering on the Williams cars, as ever, this afternoon.

Strange in the fact that it was a personal TT, as for the winner, superb record for the Tour.

The saw's great, much better than my previous one.

And things go from good to better, another win for Lewis, this could be his 3rd championship, and not an easy one where Nico's concerned.

Forgot to mention the home-brew, 40, sorry 39 pints barreled and drinkable in support of the bought stuff...
Cheers, HG

There's a large Booths opening in Burcough, Lancs on the 15th of this month (near Martin Mere)...... must call in

Asda are still 4 bottles for £5 on most 500ml beers and 6 for £6 on Speckled Hen 500ml

Anyway enough about Beer for now .......
I really like this man's photography.......

I meant to go Thursday, but finished up in Tesco's instead.

500ml cans of Tanglefoot were on offer at £8 for a 2 pack so they'll do until next week. Still got some bottles of Bombardier as well ..... slurp! slurp!

I've never understood why Sainsbury's don't compete on beer prices
