I don't see ads, thanks to adblocker plus, but I have added Lightbeam to my Firefox, to see who is following me when I visit websites. Even with DoNotTrackMe switched on it is amazing the number of hidden links there are. The big G is of course the most often seen, in many different forms.
I personally think you have more to worry about from Google than the NSA.

Is anyone getting their mouse pointer jumping from where
they put it to somewhere else. I get it in Firefox and XP Pro.
It might have been caused by an auto update..... only trouble is
I can't go back. My last image backup was about a year ago.
I also looks like it could be a screen refresh, but it's only
started doing it about two weeks ago?

Good grief XP?????? really? You know it is officially EOL don't you? The Firefox update may be the cause of the problems combined with XP simply because XP is so ancient. Check your mouse settings first though to see if something has gone awry there.

So the answer from me is no, since I don't use XP and haven't since Vista, 7, 8 and 8.1 became available.
Time you invested in a newer OS my friend. Windows 8 (especially 8.1) is nowhere near as bad as some would have you believe, and works fine without a touch screen.

Sounds like a "A Christmas Carol" and you are being haunted by the Ghost of Operating Systems Past for being mean to Uncle Bill and not upgrading to a Modern Operating System.

What I like about Windows 8 (have heard different horror stories ref 8.1 so haven't "de-graded") is all those extra mouse clicks that are necessary to do anything useful. And NO Sony won't allow tweaking

I use XP because I like to work through Win NT Filemanager
which doesn't work properly on W7. I just launch the file and app direct from Filemanager which has some extra extensions added that do things not possible with Explorer.

I'm using W8.1 and FF 25.0 and have no problems with the cursor.

Maybe you should try Chrome (browser of the devil) and see if that gives problems with the cursor too.

It seems to be running better today and it's probably caused
by MS update rather than FF.

I've never used Chrome partly because it's run by Google, but
the director of development used to be a main developer for
Windows and was involved with Progman and Winfile and seems to
suggest that it's quite independent.

If anyone follows football and knows Martin O Neill and Roy Keane are/have been appointed as Ireland manager and assistant this is Gift Grub, a radio sketch about it. Very funny- link

Martin O'Neill, the best manager the England team never had. Nothing against the current incumbent but O'Neill would have been the best man for the job in my opinion. Ireland are so lucky to have him.
As for me, all I know is that I know nothing.

Hey, no footie talk! Not when we're right in the middle of rugby season!

So the big question is, are Japan any good at rugby? If they beat Scotland I may stop going to Murrayfield entirely!

What about the Rugby league world cup thingy, with the Australia a, b, c, d and e teams competing under the guise of other countries, like Italy?

Without all those Aussies playing they'd be as rubbish at league as they are at Union, maybe even more so.

Halfway through the week, and no booze talk? Are you all still hungover from Whitby?

Any chance of a link to your Whitby snaps Gareth?
