HELP.....Kenko Extension Tubes or similar....?

since the rear element is exposed and could be damaged. You wouldn't want to do that on a current 50mm/f1.4 given their current price!) HTH! Matt I overcame the risk of damaging the rear element by cutting a hole in a rear lens cap and glueing a 49mm filter onto it, or attaching a ring f...

HELP.....Kenko Extension Tubes or similar....?

Simon, setting it up is simple, you will need one of a reverse coupler, not sure of the filter size of your Sigma 70mm but these are relatively cheap. Typical settings I use, would be f16-f22 with your sigma and the reversed lens wide open, and adjust your flash output as required. I found the...

filters

On digital it's just a polariser and ND grads, but I'll also be shooting some b&w film where I'm sure my yellow filter will get extensive useage :)

They're taking over the world, you know!

I see I am going to have to get one of those Sonnars to try out one day. I remembered this morning that I have a Takumar preset 135mm lens in chrome and black and with a 46mm front filter. It is in almost perfect cosmetic condition and the glass is clear, just very stiff to focus. I ought to sort...

Pentax Long Term Value

I'm pleased I bought my K20D last year - £650 new with 18-55, filter and Lowepro case. Much better value than the Canon/Nikon alternatives. LXs seem to be doing pretty well on the used market, too.

Photoshop turns 20

...for a mac, monitor, scuzzy drive, scanner and PhotoShop 2.5 here's my first effort (just trying stuff out), looks really cheesy now ha ha I spy the lens flare filter, some circular texture maps and some rather snazzy fractal work - was that last bit a plug-in or did you do that part in a sep...

Photoshop editing for water on lens

I know. i am disappointed about the clouds too. Unfortunately it was snowing and these are the clouds you get when it snows. I think I may have to crop. This ruin is infact an old acquaduct. Remains of the Roman empire just at my back door. Would love the get some more colour into the shot. Make it...

Confession from an Aging Photographer

Whilst rooting about in the attic found, amongst other things, a nice looking Cosina 28mm mf lens c.2002, so quite late. Must have belonged to my father. Had a skylight filter attached as well. Thought I'd try it on my K100D, but do you think I could make it focus beyond a couple of feet? The mec...

Confession from an Aging Photographer

John, There was a Zorki 4 in amazingly good condition, some grubby Cokin filters and a Cosina 135, but dad must have dropped it at some time because the filter rim was dented and I can't get the aperture to close down. My first camera an old chromium plated Halina from the fifties, given to ...

Confession from an Aging Photographer

You don't actually need the darkroom or the freezing attic - have a look at the thread on here about Rondinax developer tanks. I develop HP5 to negatives using one of those, three measuring beakers and the kitchen sink with a simple watch to time it. No mess, not much smell, and I cut out the printi...

Hello All, I have a Pentax Km with 18-55mm that comes standard with the cam. Complete novice when it comes to filters. I do quite a bit of outdoor photography. Any advice on a good, cheap filter please ? Regards, Karthik
