Cokin/Kood filter systems

The Z-pro are a bit better Martin, didn't notice a cast with my photos but when looking through the filter you see they aren't truly black. Will test them tomorrow if we have some sun. Mike about the Cokin, I hardly use them only with landscapes and I got the Z-pro set with 3 GND for €60 (...

Cokin/Kood filter systems

These are taken with the Z-pro GND filters. It really isn't my type of photography so don't comment on the photos and yes the horizon isn't straight with one  So do you see a colour cast or not?

Tedious ebay listing.

You can filter out a word or phrase by prefixing it with a minus sign in the search box. Enclose a phrase in double quotes. Multiple filters can be used in one search. Personally, I've stopped regularly browsing whole categories to fight Equipment Buying Addiction.

Polarizer Querry

I have a big 72mm Circular Polarizer filter that I was thinking of selling as I have not used it in 10+ years. But I noticed when cleaning it it has flecks in it, almost like the coating has come off. Is this what has happened? The coating come of and is it worth selling it or binning it?

Polarizer Querry

Glad to hear that Gwyn, that you have no problems. Delamination occurs mostly when there is stress between the two materials. it might be that the glass of the filter expands more then the coating when it heats up. Not usre if that's the problem it can just as easily be something else like manufa...

Cokin ND gradient fillters for landscape

With regard to the three main ND grad filters out there by cokin, as a general all purpose filter, do users out there think that the 121 soft ND8 is the best? Taking into account I like my seens dramatic and dark, generally seascapes and landscapes of tuscan rolling hills.

cokin filter?

Hi Emma, it's a Hoya you can get them on Ebay at a reasonable price depending on what size lens you want it for, if it's for a wide angle lens make sure it is a slim fit. regards, Jack. happy to have been some help.

cokin filter?

Emma please do some more research since there is a big difference between a graduated neutral density filter (GND) or a polarizer filter (pol). The square filter system like the Cokin are very good for the GND since you can determine where the transition (horizon) is since you can move the filter...

cokin filter?

For the pol I would get a screw-in filter they are simpler and far more user friendly One can get circular filters to fit the square systems. For me this is the way to go, but as above,if you intend to use very wide angle, say less than 16mm get a large holder, or vignetting may occur. Davex.

cokin filter?

Hoya polarising filters seem to be pretty cost effective - it is not crucial to get a circular polarising filter, a linear polarising filter will also work on Pentax DSLRs despite what many people will tell you! Linear ones look exactly the same, and can often be got for much less money because ...
