Just a pictutre or two
Thanks Matt, this explains the pic below. Tried to use 2 polarisers as a ND filter. As you turn one, there is virtually no difference, till suddenly it goes almost black, then total black. May try it again if I can get hold of a 'linear', then again I should just get the proper ND filter.

Just a pictutre or two
I'll try the mirror trick. What I did notice, is that my polariser gives the same effect as my polaroid sunglasses when pointed at a LCD display (which allso have a polarising filter in front). Turn the filter and the whole LCD goes black.

Replacement Lens/bayonet Caps?
Watch out for Hama lens caps. I used to have a bunch of these (7dayshop sell them very cheaply) for my various lenses. I have no stopped using them after an incident. My Dad's 28mm SMC-M was in his camera bag with UV filter and lens cap on (both Hama brand). He is not aware of having thumped...

All Purpose Film?
I had a bit of a mind blowing experience yesterday evening at my brother-in-laws. He's moving into medium format with a very nice Bronica and Twin Lens Mamiya. He'd bought a flood light kit with what appear to be 250 Watt white, frosted bulbs. I mentioned that if he wanted to shoot colour, he...

Robotic Camera Platform
You could build a rotating wheel to go in front of the lens that holds filters. Attach a motor to the wheel and it rotates to place the desired filter in front of the lens. Use a cheap remote control unit from say a RC car to control it. 8)

Robotic Camera Platform
Thank you Liam I've already got that built...Great minds wander alike... I'm sure national secuirity (CSIS) has got me on a list, as I've been hunting down mercury rocker switches from old thermostats. I'm building it to have two modes...manual, and self leveling. Rodger thought about that one ...

Looks Like I Indirectly Started a Dispute at DP Reviews
One of the things the internet has taught me, is that no matter how obscure a subject may seem, there are far more people interested in it to an unhealthy degree, than any sane person could possibly imagine. The trick is to learn to filter out the "noise". 8)

Forum Colours
Nope, it only blocks what you want it to, and by default that is only a known advert database. You'd have to add Flickr and Photobucket or similar sites to the filter.

Just ordered a pentax k10d and i have some questions....
I have come to the sad but inevitable conclusion that EEC customers who continue to pay excessive retail prices must (not to put it too finely) be total 'mugs' ! I could'nt agree more :!: :!: And Australia is in the same boat to a certain extent, at least we get a generous threshhold (when buying...
