Interview Ricoh's John Carlson (Pentax)
Place yourself into the perspective of a client looking to hire a photographer. True professional wedding photographers typically have a genuine need for full frame. The size of the sensor matters more than the mp count. Which is why items such as the Nikon D4 do so incredibly well with a sensor ...

Place yourself into the perspective of a client looking to hire a photographer. A bride looking for a photographer, is it Q1 ... What size sensor have you got? or is it Statement 1 ... I love your photos !!

Interview Ricoh's John Carlson (Pentax)
I doubt that many within the general population, ie wedding photographers clients, would even know what a sensor really is, let alone appreciate the significance of it being bigger or smaller! Of course they'll be going on examples of the persons work, but if it's equipment that's being looked at, t...

Interview Ricoh's John Carlson (Pentax)
The happy couple will be swayed more by the brand name than sensor size. What make camera do you use? ... Oh all our friends use Canon and Nikon, they are big brand names used by professionals so the pictures will be brilliant. Pentax ... who are they?

Interview Ricoh's John Carlson (Pentax)
I've done quite a few weddings and I have never ever been asked what equipment I would be using, it's your portfolio that's the important bit. Crop v FF v M4/3 v MF etc. is a discussion that does not have an ending, all depends on what camp you are in or wish to be in. If Pentax did bring a FF...

Pentax MX 1
I thought it was over-priced when it was introduced but I was wrong. I waited for the price to fall below £200 which seemed fair for what is a not very well designed compact with a tiny sensor. But, in truth, from the start it produced extraordinary images under a variety of conditions. There's...

Pentax MX 1
I've sadly neglected my DSLRs since buying an MX-1. It's output is extraordinarily good, given the sensor size. I took some shots during the last night at my pub before it closed for good (sign of the times) and a photographer from a daily newspaper with full professional Nikon kit and powerful fla...

Rumours of a new GR...
Doubt it'd be worth existing users upgrading (I've never understood why camera users seem to think they ought to upgrade with each new model anyway), but they have to keep the GR offer up to date with the competition. Wi-Fi, touch screen, and new sensor sound like they will achieve this. Flip out sc...

First pic of new Gr...
I was hoping it would come out with a 35 or 50mm equivalents lens...if it's the same 28mm equivalent can't see the point in buying one, unless it has some radically new sensor.

What is up with auto mode on the WG-4?
What you have there is similar to what I'm finding out are best settings Thanks..I was beginning to wonder if the the little camera was defective since its white balance needed calming down so much. I'm seeing that the bigger mega pix setting is not the same as a DSLR in that the sensor is so smal...

X-90 goes bonkers
I live in the Wet tropics region of Far North Qld where leather shoes and belts go mouldy, where ceilings grow mould in the wet season and require constant cleaning. But I have never had any electronic item fail because of humidity, not even a camera. If you have airconditioning in your home or ca...

GR II is here!
It seems we have truly reached a plateau if there is no need to upgrade the sensor after a couple of years. I have been procrastinating for ages seeing what else would become available in the quality zoom compact world but also in the hope that there would be an equivalent 35mm fl version of the GR...

GR II is here!
Personally I was hoping the new GR would have a 35mm or 50mm equivalent lens on it. The sensor itself is great, probably no need for an upgrade on that, though improved high ISO performance (above 1600) would have been nice. Strangely, the 47mm crop mode is mentioned as a difference from the origin...

How Good is the K-3 / K-3ii?
I bought a late K3 (1.18 firmware pre-installed in it), love it. See my gallery on here. The 50 percent more pixels allows more cropping of wildlife. I think low light ISO performance a stop worse than the K5 though, as the price to pay. Much quicker screw drive motor. Poorer battery life thou...

How Good is the K-3 / K-3ii?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IMFWlUEdw4c He needs to learn to count ... GPS, inbuilt astrotracer, anti-shake up from 3.5 to 4.5 stops, new high-speed AF algorithm, Pixel shift resolution. I am not very good at arithmetic but I make that 5 changes :?. Admittedly they may not be everyone`s cup o...

photos of the full frame finally out
I would like one of the "lightweight" cameras, The K-5IIs and grip usually with 18-135mm is starting to be a bit much to lug about all day. The K-S2 with the 17-70mm is lighter but still heavier than the csc's. I think I need to go to a store which has all the brands in stock and try before buy. Th...

GR sensor
Howdy all Is the sensor in the Ricoh GR / GRii the same as the sensor in the K5iis? I've read slightly different things on this.
