Pentax K10d Newbie photos
[quote:3496ace15f="Gwyn"]Have you seen the latest Canon rumours? I know it's swearing here but have a look at http://www.bobatkins.com/photography/digital/canon_eos_50D.html I think Samsung have patented the pixel pattern in the K20D sensor, so it will be interesting to see whether Canon have found...

Shots From Cadiz
Distorting the tonal range, which is what HDR does, can't really be described as an improvement. I certainly agree with this based on most of the HDR shots I've seen posted here. But the tonal range you get from the camera is not itself undistorted, and anyone that uses Shadows/Highlights tool in...

2 x 2
Because I like it this way. Colours are also ok for me but not every time. More , for me the "digital" colours looks very "boring" (all are the same - one could't tell that sensor/camera was used ) without any... personality, let's say. Of course, B&W film is even better than digital B&W at least fo...

Jumping Spider
We want to see Jumping Spiders jumping, not sitting around posing for you. Or.......at least, spiders sitting still with you jumping around:lol: Seriously now, Those Super Taks still hold there own, even in this digital age. I've got one coming to me in a few days. Look at that beautiful bokeh...

Jumping Spider
This one is a baby and only a couple of mms in size. Chris have you ever seen one of these guys jump, they disappear in a split second, but it would be a neat shot if i could get it. Martin I picked up quite a bit of junk on my sensor on this little excursion. Its just come spring and ...

Baby Terrapin
I like the first one the best, shame about the dirty water! Ah, no .. thats my sensor, it needs a good clean. The water was crystal clear  I did think about cleaning it up a bit in Elements.

Ant macros with the new DS
Excellent, well done, especially with the first one. They look as though they could give you a bit of a nip! :D I think though that one of your first jobs to do with your new DS is to give its sensor a thorough cleaning, it's a bit grubby by the look of it. :| Dan

Ant macros with the new DS
Thanks Guys, Dan I noticed the sensor, its filthy and i'm on it  These little guys were so tiny I doubt you would feel a bite from one. Its a nifty setup the DS with bellows and Flash bracket, feels very balanced in the hands. I will post a pic of it later.

Funny place for a heron
Spotted this guy on top of my neighbour's chimney this morning. Taken bith the 500mm Mirror Tamron on my DS. Look just to the right of the bird and you can see how the mirror lens makes sensor dust look like a black ring. Now where is that rocket blower? Ken

Voigtlander Apo Lanthar 3.5 / 90 MM PKA capturing shapes
Yeah that's just a bit too far, don't you've something a bit closer :) Well......The Biesbosch isn't that far, for you. Now.....that's what I call a beautiful place. But the truth is...., beauty worth of capturing is found everywhere. It's just a matter of seeing and if you are lucky a bit of good...

First HDR attempts
HDR = High Dynamic Range. One takes a set of photographs at different exposures (e.g. at recommended exposure, +1 stop and -1 stop) and then uses a specialized piece of software to firstly map the image as a 48bit image, then to "tone map" it back to a 16/8 bit image. It is a way of dealing with s...

Mijn Kleine Broertje
Thank you John and George for your comment :) I know John but I'm a bit of a purist with photos, I only pixel edit when it concerns sensor or lens flaws like dust on the sensor or CA and things like that, everything else is done with layers over the whole image or using filters to select things. ...

Thought I'd have a go at sunsets
Both of these were handheld, so it is my fault Probably not entirely! more likely the SR system has contributed by shifting the sensor, I get it an awful lot and its always dropping to the right slightly.

Thought I'd have a go at sunsets
I think spider is wrong, the SR wouldn't really decide by itself to rotate a bit just for fun. It's designed to keep the sensor in the position it had when the exposure started. I do have the same problem, many shots are not level (sounds better than saying hardly any are straight at all). It cou...
