Weekly competition 34: Street furniture

Not sure what you mean about cloning out the mark. On the second complete upright, near the top by the handrail, is a small crescent shaped mark. Looks a bit fuzzy so it may be a small dust fibre on the sensor, the small aperture used would point to this too. However it might just be a mark on the...

Weekly Competition #50 "On Ice"

Well, you'all certainly did not make this easy on me, but here it goes.... 01 - justgetoutandride: Nice and icy. The frozen over pond almost looks like ice crystals up close. I like the reflection of the blue sky. But the image could use a stronger point of focus. i.e. I find myself looking all...

Weekly Competition #50 "On Ice"

02 - yelvertoft: This is the sort of image I had in the back of my mind. Cool and refreshing.Nice exposure and I like the background light subtle but enough to separate the background. Although I think the image is a bit flat (but I think that is the nature of ice) . There is some sensor or backdrop...

Weekly Competition #65 Desktop Backdrop

Just for completeness here are all my comments for this competition for those that like to have all the comments in one place. Result Comments Thank you all very much for your submissions. Within some subjective constraints I think they would all work as backdrops which is a terrific achieve...

Fortnightly Competition #5 - Christmas

Don't be embarrassed - it was a clever way to express the bah humbug idea and well done. Once again I found the topic very hard as it was full of choices and that's always difficult. In my other main hobby, off road driving, the trickiest gates to drive through are those where you have choices and h...

Fortnightly competition #6 Comments

Anyone going to give some useful advice about shooting in the dark - I have a canal and a Victorian mill in walking distance, so - any advice would be great. As a side point, this will be my first fortnightly comp so I need an 'idiot's guide' to submitting an image. I've been thinking about t...

FORTNIGHTLY COMPETITION No 10 COMMENTS.

Great kick-off Hyram :!: Some creative thinking has been done, there. I like it. To bad about the grud on your sensor.(serious grud,I mean):D:D:D Was it intentional? It adds to the "old feel", IMO. Mine will be a bit less easy to guess, I am afraid. Been working at it, the whole day. ...

FORTNIGHTLY COMPETITION No 10 COMMENTS.

.................To bad about the grud on your sensor.(serious grud,I mean):D:D:D That is the problem with those early digital cameras from the 1980's - the 'crud' really used to stick to the sensor :!:

FORTNIGHTLY COMPETITION # 10. Everyday Object from a weird, unusual, puzzling perspective!

Being pedantic, my shot is of the mirror inside my ME Super (lens removed obviously), which is reflecting the focussing screen and the image way beyond reflected through the pentaprism via the viewfinder. I started off this shot with my Super A and began by cleaning the mirror. In the process I ...

Fortnightly Competition no # 12 : Comments.

Yep, anything goes, as long as it is shot in the next two weeks. Exif data must be intact to prove !! And needles to say, I will be very nit-picking. So I'll better see No wonky horizons, sensor grud or other "mistakes". Martin.

Fornightly Competition no.14 Night

Congratulations to Ralf for a superb entry again (wonderful colour), and to all who entered. Thanks too to the good Dr. for excellent judging. I actually thought mine was a bit weak, it was a last minute attempt and I didn't give it my full attention. I will have a go at cleaning it up a bit as...

Fortnightly competition no.14 Comments

Thanks Martin! Yes, I saw some brilliant star trail shots in the voting for PPG. Any problems with battery power when leaving the shutter open and mirror up for such a long time? The manual warns that sensor cleaning should only be done with a full battery (or power supply). And that only tak...

Fortnightly Competition # 18 "Movement"

Wow! what a turnout! I kept thinking I had it sussed and then another great shot would appear. I think the winner for me is fairly obvious, but the next few are very close and really, could be any way round. I really struggled to decide. I like to see people making an effort so snap-shots have to ...

Comment's for Weekly Competion SPOTS''n'' DOTS.

So I will take you ON for the spots and dots! LOL I'm trying to get mine cleaned! I've found some sensor cleaning swabs on ebay, but I'm not sure about using them. Can't afford an Arctic Butterfly yet and to be honest, some of mine look more like smears, so maybe an impregnated swab would be best....

Comment's for Weekly Competion SPOTS''n'' DOTS.

Once I had to clean my sensor (the camera's sensor, I mean), and found the Eclipse Sensor Swab very efficient. Check this . Just make sure to select the right type of fluid. There is a list of cameras to show which one is right for your camera. And they even guarantee the cleaning will not d...
