I dont know the technicalities of it, But full frame cameras produce far less noise than crop sensor camera. In the Manchester pubs where I shoot. Lenses have to be f2.8 or even faster. On my K5ii I limit the Iso at 6400 as its unuseable beyond that. More often than not images get turn to BW as ther...

I dont know the technicalities of it, But full frame cameras produce far less noise than crop sensor camera. Well bigger sensor has bigger pixels for a given number of megapixels, so more light can be gathered per pixel, so better signal to noise ratio.

For my low light gig photography. It will produce far less noise in images . But will it? The pixels will be about the same size as on a 16 MP APS-C, so similar to the K5 series I would have thought. true but the K-5 was released in 2010, I would hope sensor technology has improved since. :)

Having owned most of the K series dslrs, i do find this statement rather puzzling, in what ways are dslrs easier to use ? Viewfinder can be used without having to switch on camera; Long lenses handle better than trying to use a screen image; Pentaprism gives better view that does not lag with action...

being nosie

I started with a Kodak Brownie 127 in my teens and got my first 35mm camera, a Kodak Retinette IIb when I went to university. That was the camera that I developed (sorry) my photographic enthusiasm with, doing my own B&W D&P in the university darkroom where I also reloaded my cassettes with cheap go...

so delayed again

Pentax usually get the designs right but are sometimes let down by component issues such as the sensor stains and issues with the flash components failing on the K-5. Perhaps they have learnt and are making sure quality is #1. If components have to be rejected it will of course delay things. I suspe...

Well said David; I also feel that this could be much ado about nothing having had some extensive use of Nikon D810 and a Canon 6D recentlty just to get a real feel for FF . i needed to get a new second body and eventually went for the K3 II after a comparative test and frankly I ike it much more ...

If it costs more than a McDonalds happy meal then I'm out unfortunately. Never going to be able to afford one for 5 - 10 years. That said, hypothetically, if I could afford one, I'm not entirely sure I'd want to opt for the first model anyway. Cameras these days have become consumables, with a ...

Good points about waiting a while for companies to iron-out early gremlins. Remember both Pentax and Nikon models have suffered from sensor stains or one sort or another which caused much chagrin to deep-pocketed early adopters. This is, remember, not an evolutionary model but one which very muc...

Can "My Shutter Count" be fooled?

Yes it does happen. I bought a camera on the bay once that was marked as spares only. All that was needed was a two minute sensor clean.

Anyone had any experience with SRS?

Hi guys, Long story short, lent my k-500 to a friend with a 50mm for a car show. Finally got it back with a scratched to hell lens and a big gash on the sensor :( Anyway, decided to upgrade to a K3 II, ordered it with the 18-135mm, with free 50mm and extended battery. I also ordered a 55-300mm...

If there was only one lens with it there'd have been no reason to remove it. Perhaps it's ...

Anyone had any experience with SRS?

Yes, but the sensor is still covered by the filter. I wonder how he would know it was there 'before' you loaned it. He could only check immediately 'after' you loaned it to him of course. But why would he? Anyway - my mind is wandering away with me here :D Enjoy your new K3II !

Anyone had any experience with SRS?

You should know if the sensor was 'gashed' just by looking at images taken before your friend borrowed your camera. Time for a new friend as well
