Lot of money
So whats the Bugatti Veyron of camera's then... I think Sir would like a . It has a similar sensor to the 645D (same physical size, both made by Kodak, "only" 37MP though) and weighs in at just over £20k body only. You really don't want to price up a set of lenses to go with it though - it'll cost...

Lot of money
I Might be wrong but I don't think the Mamiya comes with a built in sensor and requires coupling with a "Back" which will set you back the same, if not more, than the body/lens combo. Cheerz MZ

Lot of money
Even cheaper in US$, but not as cheap as the Mamiya that comes with a lens for the same money as the 645D body. Pentax is still cheaper than the *equivalent* Mamiya. From your link: Pentax 645D body only (includes 40MP sensor) $9,995 Mamiya 645DF body only (no sensor) $5,990 Mamiya DM22 body +...

me thinks this is a hybrid MEF
I would suspect this is someone combining the bits from a broken black ME F (very rare) with the body from a silver one (slightly less rare). I've done it myself with a dead black ME Super and a scruffy but working (after some prodding) silver example The ME F is a bit of an oddball. You can take...

Saw that. I think Pentax could easily release an i10 camera with auto 110 or c mount and lay claim to title of smallest evil class camera, then release another with a m 4/3's sized sensor using the same lens mount... so who knows... they already got all the stuff they need.... Pentax has a HUGE s...

Sorry Don. Posted my comment up then remembered there are loads of c-mount M4/3 adaptors!! yeah i even saw some images shot with an auto 110 lens on 4/3s I think Samsung and Sony are on the right path and Pentax would be better off avoiding 4/3s and using it's own mounts and lenses and let the a...

Hmmm - mirrorless K mount is pointless because the distance the lens has to be mounted from the sensor is too great. Look at the adapters you have to use to make a K fit lens work on m43 and it becomes clear that you end up with little or no size advantage compared to a dSLR when you are using lega...

Yet another photographer stoped to take pictures in a public place!
Its ludicrous (not your photography Smeggy). Do the self same protectors of the state ride each bubble to make sure the fliers don't go taking pictures? Or search everybody and cross reference their camera to make sure the sensor and lens combination doesn't provide al-qaeda level resolution? ...

K5 Battery - why 3 terminals?!
It's been on the forum before. The T is for the temperature sensor (thermistor) in the battery. The charger "sees" the battery temperature under charge. Best regards

I noticed that they ran the "Marked Sensor" story in TWO consecutive editions instead of the usual once and didn't even have it correct saying that Pentax were repairing (not replacing) faulty cameras. One pathetic rag

I have been a loyal Pentax user, since my first SLR in 1974, a Spotmatic II, which I still have, and in good working order. My current camera is a K10D, which will probably be my last, as I am now retired and living on the state pension of just over £100.00 a week, which does not leave a lot to pur...

Pentax and Samsung
Samsung got the K mount for its NX range. It already had decent. budget point and shoot cameras. Samsungs ability to provide decent customer and product service for a limited line was laid bare. Pentax were probably shown how to make economies of scale and not sure if the Samsung influence helpe...
