Thanks John, I'll do that and see what happens. I was going to try and have it developed in Boots or one of those Max Speilman shops. I'm not considering going back to film, love the ease of digital too much the only additional cost being the electricity to charge the battery. At the moment it's on ...

You have done the right thing in putting it on an auction site. Film is dead and is not coming back.. Some here will disagree Because it has a certain nostalgic value for some. More trouble than its worth...

More trouble than its worth... Surely all would disagree? "Film is dead". So it does not exist? It's not available? If your...

I shot film for decades and I'm not going back but I get the impression there's a hard core minority who still enjoy it. Our own Gray Summers for example who posts some excellent scanned images.

No probs with developing Pan F -- I can do it in Rodinal or make up some Beutler formula and do it in 20 minutes -- it;s easy ! Ah Rodinal, that takes me back, great stuff will last for years. Whilst I still have my ME, I do digital all the time, I noticed the difference when I scanned boxes of slid...

Panorama mode on MZ-5N - anything I should beware of?
Like John I also had a Z1P and used the pano now and then. I did mix standard 3x4's and pano and like Ken says they came back with normal 3x4's but the panos had large black expanses top and bottom. However that wasn't a problem when you scanned them and printed larger. A4, A3, you just print the pi...

New to the film cams!
Hi Karine and welcome to the forum! If you look at the top plates, there is a little window just in front of the film advance lever on the ME and just to the right of it on the P30. This shows how many shots have been taken since you loaded the film. You just have to know what length the film was...

New to the film cams!
my P30 (less than a fiver on amazon recently) has a window on the back so you can see what film is loaded. hpwever, i think there are different versions of the p30 as one online manual had the batteries inserted the opposite way to my one... cue many minutes of confusion and swearing as i couldn;t g...

Pentax lenses for our film cameras.
Just avoid DA lenses, which may well vignette, and any without aperture rings, such as the FA-J. Any Pentax K bayonet lens, M, A, F, FA, will be fine. M and A series are manual focus. F and FA are autofocus. There a two D-FA macro lenses with aperture rings that can be used as well. Screw thre...

Pentax lenses for our film cameras.
Excellent, I have had good results with the K55 and K85 lenses, as well as my favourite, the FA20-35 which is a super wide angle lens, pick one up while its still reasonably priced! I have just commited to a FA50 f1.7 as an autofocus alternative to the K55, as well as an old M* 300mm f4 from Lennyb...

Pentax lenses for our film cameras.
Hoops, when I think back to all the Pentax lenses and indeed cameras that I have owned since theS1a in 1962' I could weep, but never mind. At one stage I lectured for Pentax on cameras and the marketing dept., kept me well supplied! But again never mind, Good luck with your new lenses. Emil...

Quick-Shift focusing lenses on MZ6 camera
I have never used Quick-Shift lenses on film cameras before but on trying a D FA 50mm Macro, it seems to behave quite oddly. In Auto mode there is no problem until trying to rotate the focus ring. It will only turn one way until it gets to the end of its run and then locks up completely. Switching...

Help with the purchase of my next film camera please
Most film cameras are fully compatible with manual 'K' mount lenses, the exceptions are listed here: . Some of the MZ series bodies have a 'penta-mirror' instead of a penta-prism (dimmer view and more distortion in the viewfinder). I'm aware the MZ-M uses this finder - not sure what else might use ...

Help with the purchase of my next film camera please
If you have owned and used an MZ/ZX series Pentax any length of time that old nagging "when will that plastic gear that runs everything break and completely incapacitate my camera" feeling will never leave you. Better to avoid the sad "plastic Pentaxes" as my repairman calls them. To trul...

Split Screen Focusing
I just picked up an ME Super and I am using the split screen focussing for the first time. Ive just loaded a film so it will be a week or so before I can put a roll through it to make sure the camera is sound. However... This split screen / prism thingy is hard to get used to after a big la...

Split Screen Focusing
I used an ME Super for so many years it became automatic... so automatic I'd have to go use one again to work out what I did. From memory, I either looked for something in the right plane that I could use the split screen on, or I ignored the middle stuff altogether and used the plain ground glass...
